When you’re shooting from a supported position, you want your body as squared off to your target as possible. Your spine must be in line with your rifle.
This is called natural point of aim.

Recoil: Before the bullet even leaves the barrel, the gun is already moving.
If your spine is twisted, your shots will drift left or right depending on that twist. You can fight this with force in unconventional shooting positions, but that takes a lot of finesse and practice.

A straight spine keeps everything in line.

Physical recoil management:
Notice my thumb is not hooked around the back of the pistol grip.
My fingers wrap around the front and pull straight back into my shoulder.

for men, A hooked thumb makes you subconsciously tighten your grip. Women weaken their grip when they are stressed.
That adds extra input into the rifle — we don’t want that.
Unhook your thumb and let it rest naturally above your hand.

I use a competition grip with my left hand:
• One finger running down the handguard (for me, this reduces wrist tension)
• Thumb over the top Picatinny rail
• Middle, ring, and pinky fingers gripping the front of the Stoic Solutions bag

This hand creates my axis point, which lets me get into ports quickly and with finesse.
Generally, I’m pressing down when I’m in supported positions.
I only pull the rifle into my body when I’m shooting standing unsupported.

Those little scooches I do left or right —
that’s me adjusting my natural point of aim.

My process is simple and efficient:
Pop out of my optic → find my target visually → adjust my spine with my feet → re-acquire the target in my optic.

This is the most efficient way to shoot precision rifle quickly and accurately.

Stage 6, My stage 1.

Saturday was a tough day. Grandmother passed Thursday morning. I didn’t wanna be there. I dodnt want to be anywhere. My pistol needed maintenance, I’ve been neglecting it for a while. TBH, i do run things into the ground… for science. Aside from everything that was going on, I didn’t DQ! I feel like I shot pretty good for what I was dealing with. I appreciate my squad so much. Those guys were so much fun, even with the frustration, we all had some jokes and some great training opportunities. Special things to Adam for letting me run his pistol. 🤌🏼🤘🏼! Oh, i was so pi**ed. It was my own fault. What can happen will happen and usually it will happen on the day that you don’t want it to happen on. S**t never falls apart on a normal day, maintain your gear.

Stage 2: par time should have been 120 with all the required movement.

Stage 1. If height over bore is an issue, use bags! Im running my Stoic bag AND super lite Armageddon bag. Also don’t hunt in your optic like I did, that’s rookie s**t

If you struggle with your zero… you are probably dot focused. Heres what that looks like. Dot Focused: Hands and pistol are clear, target can been seen but is blurry. Target Focused: Hands and optic are blurry, Target is in focus.
