TEFL Application 01/09/2022

Hi Guys,
Welcome to The Ehizojie Firm ESL Support group for Teachers.
We basically help guide interested candidates in their journey to teaching English in China 🇨🇳 and our service is completely free of charge to all our teachers.

These are the steps involved in the process of teaching English in China;

Step 1:
Candidates submit these materials by WhatsApp or email;
1. Resume
2. Self introduction Video (1min taken against a plain background)
3. Copy of Degree.
4. Copy of TEFL certificate

We use these materials to help candidates secure interviews with our network of verified employers.

Step 2:
Interested Employers will schedule an interview with candidates via WeChat Video (We advice candidates to download wechat on their phones). If Candidates pass their interviews, they are offered a contract directly by the employer (We advice them on what to look out for or ask for).

Step 3:
Candidates sign their contracts and submit all work permit documents to their employers to enable them process their work permits (Takes 10-15 days).
1. Degree Certificate (Authenticated by Chinese Embassy in Issuing Country)
2. Non criminal record certificate (Authenticated by Chinese Embassy in home country)
3. TEFL Certificate (https://www.teflcourse.net/apply/?cu=DFWLN2016D ) (Can be Completed online within 10 days, you only need the 120hrs Certificate course without a tutor)
4. Work Experience Letters.
5. Completed Physical Health Check Form (Will send the form)

Note: We advice Candidates to start getting their work permit documents ready as soon as they apply because employers are usually not patient after interviews and our selling point to Employers is that “Our Candidates have all work permit documents READY”.

Step 4:
Candidates receive Work permit Notice and proceed to Chinese Embassy to apply for their Z Visa (Work Visa).

Step 5:
Candidates arrive China and within 30 Days Employers Process their residence permit while they start working. We continue to support candidates in China through our Teachers support group and answer all their questions.

Copied:
Hi everyone , I am in my second day of being back in China, Shenzhen and thought I’d share a bit of my experiences-some might find useful if you coming back soon.

Preparation for Covid tests :

As per the latest requirements for applying for the green HDC code , two Covid PCR test are required 48 and 24 hours before your flight and must be no less than 24 hours between the two tests. Currently in South Africa there is only one flight per week from JHB to Shenzhen and my flight was at 20:50 at night which made the testing times a little more difficult than it would be if it was a day time flight. I thought it would be best to try find labs which offer 24 hour testing. We found an Ampath and Lancet which offer 24 hours testing at olivedale hospital which seemed perfect , so I planned to do my first test on Monday night at 21:00 (within 48 hours of my flight ) and my second test on Tuesday at 21:30 ( within 24 hours of my flight and more than 24 hours since my first test ) I was told it’s very important that there is at least 24 hours in between each test and the two tests are done at different labs. Both labs offer results via a mobile app which is great , you can get the results soon as they are available.

HDC code application:
Once i had received my second Covid test result visa the Lancet mobile app early Wednesday morning (6 AM) it was time to upload my results along with other documents to get my green code. The documents needed are

* travel itinerary
*Chinese visa or resident permit
*copy of passport
*both sets of Covid PCR test results

I uploaded all my documents at around 6 AM Wednesday morning and received fhe HDC at around 15:30 in the afternoon. After the excitement of getting the final piece of the puzzle we drove to the airport to arrive early for the flight which was scheduled for 20:50 departure.

Airport and flight :

Once arriving at the airport there was a very long queue for check in and took about an hour to reach the check in desk. I had to show my Covid tests and passport and also fill in two forms , one about travel history and the other was an AirChina disclaimer form. After check in , going through customs on our side was as normal.

I prepared a huge pack of snacks for the flight as I know they don’t offer any meals , I took a big bag of biltong , chips and a few other snacks. Near the boarding gate I also bought myself 3 big bottles of different drinks for the flight.

Once on the plane , I couldn’t believe how full it was , literally every seat taken , no gaps between seats. Once you reach your seat there is a plastic bag ( not a checkers packet ) with some snacks inside such as (small) sweet bread rolls , pink Chinese sausages , muffins , crackers etc, two bottles of water. ( you can ask for more water as you need )

No headset provided so take your own aux earphones if you need or prepare something to watch on your own iPad or laptop. It’s about a 13 hour flight so definitely bring something to keep yourself entertained.

Landing in China Shenzhen:

Once we landed in Shenzhen we were taken by shuttle in small groups to the entrance of the customs building where we had to sanitize and change our masks ( they provide the masks in Shenzhen ) and had to scan download and fill in a few documents, some of these documents are all in Chinese so I recommend download Baidu translate , it’s an app where you can take a photo of anything in Chinese and it will translate it to English. The staff are also very helpful and will go through everything with you if you get stuck. At customs they will scan your passport , check your visa , take your fingerprints and a photo of your face. I was also asked a few basic questions like where I will be going after quarantine , who am I working for etc. After that you will have one Covid test done before leaving the airport (mouth swab )
After the Covid test we could pick up our luggage and head to the buses which take us to our quarantine hotel.

After about a 45 minute drive we arrived at the quarantine hotel and had all our bags sanitized and could then pick up a card at the reception and head up to our rooms , in my case payment is made at the end of quarantine but I have heard other cases where people need to pay upfront. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice hotel room , which was spacious , clean and modern. I attached a video below and some pictures of the meals I have been getting ( which have been delicious )

Hope this info can help some people ! Feel free to ask questions if you have any

U can also contact them for teaching positions in China

Hi teachers, happy Tuesday.

This is just a reminder for all of you who wish to apply for a teaching position abroad, that you do need to have your teaching qualifications verified with SAQA.

There are massive delays with SAQA at the moment so please do keep this in mind... best to start the process asap as this is essential for your employment visa.

You need to send an email to - [email protected] - with the subject line: "Verification Letter quotation" (include your full name, ID number and mention your qualification and university name). SAQA will then contact you directly with further instructions as well as payment method (cost is around R600).

Once you've secured a teaching position, your SAQA verification letter can then be attested at the relevant embassy.

We hope this helps!
