PPP DERBY DAY
We hosted the annual PPP Derby Day this year, which turned out to be a fantastic event celebrating sport, culture and spirit. This event is a great way to connect with similar schools that we feel are sister schools in a way. The results can be found on the D6 Communicator via the following link:

A big thank you to Performance Brands, who sponsored all our match balls for the Derby and to SuperSport Schools, who livestreamed some of the sports fixtures. Thank you to all the staff who put time and effort into the planning of the event.

CROSS COUNTRY
Our Cross Country Teams have had a fantastic season. Yet again, our A Teams remain in the Top 3 for the 6th year running. The Senior A Team and the Junior A Team placed 1st overall in the District League. Both teams went on to take on the Top 3 teams of each District in the whole of Gauteng at Saheti School on Monday, 25 May. They did extremely well, with the Senior A Team placing 3rd overall in the whole province and the Junior A Team placing 5th overall. This is a fantastic achievement and all the Parktown Girls runners can be extremely proud of themselves.

On Friday 29 May, the individuals who have been selected to represent their District will take on all the other Districts at Pretoria Boys. Good Luck to the following girls who have been selected to represent their District:

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the following players who were selected for the relevant Southern Gauteng Provincial Hockey Teams. The teams were announced at an announcement evening on 13 May at Fourways High School. Miss Hannan has been selected to coach the Southern Gauteng U14 B Team, Coach Charlie will be coaching the Southern Gauteng U16 C Team, and is the U18 A Team manager. Good Luck to the coaching staff and players for their upcoming Inter-Provincial Tournament.

Congratulations to Zahreen Loonat on her fantastic results from the past two Equestrian competitions she took part in.

Working Riding – 5th place

TALENT AFRICA
Congratulations to Rachel Mathi, in Grade 9, who recently achieved 5 golds (4 of them higher golds) at the regional trials of the Talent Africa Competition.

Rachel obtained the following:

Vocal Jazz - Gold
Vocal Broadway - Higher Gold
Vocal Open 1 - Higher Gold
Vocal Open 2 - Higher Gold
Musical Acting - Higher Gold

She is now off to Nationals and has gained her Gauteng colours again this year.

Rachel has also been cast in a main role in the National Children’s Theatre production called Dare to Dream - Disney Junior. This is a wonderful achievement, Rachel — congratulations!
