On 28 May 2026, the Sustainable Human Settlement and Construction Research Centre - Shscrc at the University of Johannesburg hosted a memorable Graduation Dinner in honour of our outstanding βs and graduates. This special occasion celebrated scholars whose dedication, perseverance, and rigorous research have earned them Masterβs and Doctoral degrees from the University of Johannesburg.

In his inspiring address, the Distinguished Director, Prof. Clinton Aigbavboa, congratulated the graduates on their tenacity, academic excellence, and valuable contributions toward expanding the frontiers of research. He reflected on the βLaw of Sowing and Reaping,β likening their achievements to a well-earned harvest, and encouraged them to continue sowing positively into society through the knowledge they have acquired. As he aptly stated, β harvest is always honest, and you reap more than you sow.β
The graduating scholars also shared their reflections and experiences, alongside words of encouragement from co-supervisors, Prof. Douglas Aghimien and Dr. Simon Ofori Ametepey, who commended them and charged them to continue in the spirit of and . The event also featured heartfelt messages from the graduates' proud parents.
The Head of the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying, Prof. Lerato Millicent Aghimien, delivered the closing remarks, congratulating the graduates on their academic excellence and resilience while encouraging them to continue striving for greater impact.
