💙 For 75 years, Bluebird has been guided by remarkable leaders whose vision, dedication and unwavering commitment have shaped generations of children, families and educators.

With only a handful of Principals leading our school since 1951, Bluebird's story is one of continuity, stability and a deep respect for the values that have always been at its heart. As we celebrate our 75th year, we honour the leaders who have helped create the trusted, nurturing community that Bluebird is today.

🎵💙 Learning Through Music and Movement 💙🎵

There is plenty of rhythm, laughter and imagination during our Music and Movement lessons!

Our children keep a steady beat with boomwhackers, sing along to the piano and let their imaginations run wild as they stomp like dinosaurs, waddle like penguins and stretch up tall like giraffes.

Every song, movement and rhythm helps develop listening skills, coordination, body awareness and confidence, while encouraging children to express themselves in joyful, creative ways.

At Bluebird, we know that some of the best learning happens when little bodies are moving, little voices are singing and everyone is having fun. 💙

🦋🐞 Where do Creepy Crawlies Live?

Curiosity was buzzing in our Learning Lab as little explorers took a closer look at the fascinating world of creepy crawlies!

Armed with magnifying glasses, the children carefully examined insects, discovered tiny details they hadn't noticed before, shared their observations with one another, and took turns exploring each fascinating find.

But the learning doesn't stop in the Learning Lab. Our themes weave their way throughout the whole school - from classrooms and music & drama to sensory play, the wendy-house and beyond.
Each experience builds on the next, allowing children to explore the theme in different ways and delve a little deeper every day.

Sometimes, all it takes is a closer look to spark a lifetime of wonder. 💙

Today, we celebrate the women who nurture, inspire, lead and care.

We also celebrate the little girls in our classrooms who are growing in confidence, finding their voices, showing kindness, asking big questions and dreaming even bigger dreams.

At Bluebird, we're proud to be part of their story, helping every child believe in who they are and who they can become.

Happy National Women's Day to all the incredible women and girls in our Bluebird family. 💙

The laughter has quietened, the playground is taking a well-earned rest, and our classrooms are waiting patiently for little feet to fill them once again. 💙

Each class brought a favourite story to life, stepping into the shoes of beloved characters and delighting us with laughter, imagination and creativity. From listening stories and matching instruments to characters, to moving, marching, tiptoeing and shuffling their way through the pages, our Bluebirdies discovered that stories aren't just for reading—they're for living too.

📚✨ Where Stories Spark Learning ✨📚

As part of our Once Upon a Time theme, our Learning Lab was transformed into an enchanting space where stories inspired curiosity, conversation and discovery.

Beloved storybooks and familiar characters invited our children to explore the magic of literature in new ways. From Paddington Bear waiting to greet little learners, to the giant beanstalk inspiring tales of Jack's adventures, every corner encouraged children to pause, wonder and imagine.

Surrounding them were carefully chosen words, phrases and rich vocabulary that sparked meaningful conversations and introduced new language in a natural, engaging way. As children explored the space, they built their vocabulary, strengthened their communication skills and developed a deeper love for books and storytelling.

The magic didn't stop in the Learning Lab. Back in their classrooms, the stories came alive through the children's artwork, as favourite characters, magical moments and imaginative ideas were brought to life with paint, crayons, collage and creativity.

Every element of our Learning Lab was carefully curated to ignite curiosity, enrich vocabulary and nurture a lifelong love of books. At Bluebird, we know that when children are immersed in rich, language-filled environments, every story becomes an opportunity to learn, grow and imagine. 💙
