On Wednesday we held a very special assembly as a school - for the first time since COVID, we were able to accommodate all our children in one venue.
A wonderful message of plugging into God's source was shared with a demonstration of light.
We are so blessed to work in a school where we are able to freely share the Lord's gospel.

Our Grade 3 learners have been learning about birds. π¦
This week they focussed on the different types of beaks various birds have. The Grade 3βs then tried to mimic these various beaks by using a variety of tools.
1. Stork / Spoonbill - Tool: spoon.
These birds have a long beak with a scoop on the end. Their beaks are adapted to keep their heads above water while in search of food.
2. Hawk / Owl / Eagle / Vulture - Tool: scissors
These birds tear or pull the flesh off their prey.
3. Hummingbird - Tool: straw
The Hummingbird had a long tubular beak used to drink the nectar from the inside of flowers.
4. Swallow / Bee eater / Robin- Tool: Folder straw
These birds hunt insects with their mouths open. They also dig for insects in the ground.
5. Heron / Kingfisher - Tool: Coffee stirrer
The beaks of these birds open and shut fast enough to capture fish while diving into the water.
We hope you learnt something new about the beaks of birds today. π¦

What a phenomenal weekend! πππ
07/09/2022
Northwest Christian School had their first ever Major Production in the form of an interactive "Walk through the Bible" play this past weekend.
Guests were taken on a journey, where 10 Bible stories came to life. Each story told in the form of beautifully written poems and read and acted out by our talented Grade 6 & 7 learners.
Some scenes were a show, acted out, while others were interactive. You became Jonah in the belly of the whale, or Daniel in the lions' den, walked through the parted Red Sea, witnessed the wonder of Creation, met Noah and his wife, laid eyes on Joseph's magnificent coat and saw the birth of Christ.
No matter which part of the evening was your favourite, it was just very special being able to be together as a school family once again after 2 and a half years.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this production come to life:
-The seamstresses who made the costumes and sets;
-the Saturday morning volunteers who painted, folded and cut their way through mountains of cardboard;
-the parents who donated supplies, props, food, animals and money;
-the volunteers who donated their time on both evenings;
-our teachers who set up the sets on Friday afternoon and
-everyone who bought a ticket and spread the word about the production!
And finally to our Lord and Saviour, for giving us the most perfect weekend - perfect weather, no wind, no rain and no loadshedding!
What an AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!
Looking forward to seeing you at the next production!

Spring is around the corner and the flowers are showing off their beauty.
"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these."
