Community News - Buy A Teacher A Coffee

The kind folks from Homeground Coffee in Berario Shopping Centre have created a new community board in their shop. It is a 'Buy A Teacher A Coffee' board where parents and customers of theirs can buy a coffee for local teachers as a offering.

Patrons can put the teacher's name and school on the slip and peg it to the board in the Cafe so that the respective teacher/s can come and enjoy a free coffee thanks to the patrons of Homeground Coffee.

It is a lovely community initiative for the staff of NWCS, all thanks to Homegound Coffee.

We love this idea and our teachers will love the support, the Cafe vibe for a chill, or a spot to get some marking done etc.

Friends Matter Friday 💚

Mmmmmm🍪.... The children really enjoyed the yummy s'mores and loved pj day 🛏🧸. We also spoke about how we can include one another to make sure no one ever feels left out 💚

✈️🌤️ Celebrating Ascension Day 🌤️✈️

Today, we celebrated Ascension Day in a special way as our students came dressed as what they would like to become when they are older. From doctors and teachers to pilots and athletes, it was wonderful to see the dreams and aspirations of our children on display. 🌟🩺✏️🎤⚾️🏉🏏🩰🔬

As a school, we gathered around the quad and folded paper aeroplanes together. The aeroplanes symbolised Jesus ascending into heaven and reminded us of the promise that one day He will return.✝️

“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus… will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” – Acts 1:11

☕Weird Cup Wednesday☕

Today, our students took part in a fun and meaningful Weird Cup Wednesday! The children brought all sorts of creative, weird, and wonderful unbreakable cups, and enjoyed a warm cup of hot chocolate together. 🤍🍫🏆

As we shared this special time, we also reflected on the importance of honesty, forgiveness, and prayer. The children were encouraged to confess something that had made them feel sad or weighed on their hearts, and to pray for one another with kindness and compassion.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” – James 5:16

Teamwork Tuesday 💜

Today, our students proudly wore the shirts or colours of their favourite sports teams for Teamwork Tuesday! It was a wonderful reminder that teamwork, encouragement, and unity help us grow stronger together.

In class, each child wrote a special note of encouragement for their friends, spreading kindness, hope, and positivity throughout the day. 💌🌟
