Employment Equity reporting season opens this month.

From 1 September the Department of Employment and Labour reopens the EE reporting system, and this cycle is different from the last one. The 2025 submission was a baseline. This year designated employers are measured against the annual targets inside their five year sectoral plans for the first time.

Before you start, four questions are worth answering honestly:

Is your EE Plan aligned to the gazetted sectoral targets for your industry?
Are your EE Committee meetings properly documented?
Can you demonstrate meaningful consultation and quarterly monitoring?
Are your EEA submissions supported by accurate workforce data?

If any of those answers is uncertain, the time to fix it is now and not during an inspection.

She holds a Master of Business Leadership and a Doctorate in Finance and Economics, and she is known for a practical, business first approach to transformation.
