Let us guard ourselves against aversive bodily behaviour;
let us be controlled in behaviour. Avoiding bodily anger,
let is practice only gentle deeds. Dhammapada 231

Let us guard ourselves against irritability in speech;
let us be controlled in speech. Avoiding angry scolding,
let us practice only kind speech. Dhammapada 232

Let us guard ourselves against irritability in thought;
let us be controlled in mind. Avoiding hateful thoughts,
let us practice only good thinking. Dhammapada 233

The wise are all well controlled in all bodily behaviour,
Well controlled in speech and well controlled in thought.
They are thus truly well-controlled. Dhammapada 234
