It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of Mr. Mulalo Mulaudzi, our Afrikaans teacher at Basa Diepsloot Primary.

We pray that the God of mercy and compassion grants the family, learners and colleagues' strength and hope during this difficult and sad time. 💐🌾🥀🌼

Thrilled to announce that our School achieved 🥳2nd place🥳 in the well-contested BATTLE OF BOOKS READERS COMPETITION 2023 FINALS.

 A group of 12 learners were selected for the reading program initially.
 The final 7 children were selected to represent the school in the Battle of Books Library competitions.
 10 NOVELS were selected by the Community Library Directors.
 The team was led by the following educators: N. Masilo and Z. Motubatse.
 The region has 90 schools that participated in the competition.
 The competition ran from the Zonal round involving schools in Diepsloot. Round 2 included schools that had taken position 1 in their Zones in the region. Round 4 is the finals for the Regional Battle of Books Readers Competition.

The annual Science Scuffle, held to promote science, technology, engineering and maths at schools, had four winners this year.
FOUR schools took top honours in the annual Science Scuffle, which has an overall theme of promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Basa Diepsloot Primary, with 101 points, received books donated by Books Only and Pick n Pay gift vouches donated by Friends of Johannesburg Public Libraries.
