November is widely accepted as the National Education Month, as a monument of the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Prime Minister of Education in India. He was an activist who sought to eliminate illiteracy in the populous of India.
We as Tanie_Codes are dedicating this month to education so as to spread the word that we understand and sympathise with those that do not have access to education. We comprehend the fact that this contributes to the low percentage of girls pursuing careers in STEM fields. In Southern Africa, only 7% of women make up the work force in Engineering disciplines, a number that could drastically increase if more girls received adequate education in these countries.

To the matriculant class of 22

Goodluck on your finals this November, by now you probably know it will not be easy. Seriously, IT WON'T :) Key takes are that you learn from the mistakes you made in your preliminary papers, don't be anxious about looking back at questions you didn't get, tackle them and to absolute certainty be sure that you do not make those same mistakes again. This is us keeping the message short, keep your head up and aim for, well... Those distinctions from the rest of the pack :) See what I did there.

Happy ! Black Girls CODE builds pathways for Black girls to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators. Let’s work together to chart a new course forward, and ensure there are more Black women tech founders, entrepreneurs, leaders and educators in our future!

We, as Tanie Codes Organisation , would like to extend our love and acknowledgment to all the girls following us, all the girls in South Africa and all the young bright women around the world around the world. Today is International Day of The Girl Child and we say to all of you, your future is what you make of it. You may be growing up in conditions that you feel don’t allow you to move forward. Circumstances that hinder your growth and vision as a young girl but believe this, opportunities will arise that allow you to expand your horizons. We offer some of those opportunities, we are here to introduce you to the STEAM field and the chance to view a side of the world that you can use to empower yourself with skills to prosper in this world that is soon to be ruled by technology, all you have to do is send us a message when you feel you are ready to not be boxed in and join in the growing number of women partaking in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math fields.

And to all the parents reading this, encourage your young girls. Support them in their life’s desires and DO NOT limit their options because of your own past experiences. Believe in them and allow them to expand their wings. And one last thing, enforce these teachings upon them: Do not let anyone, even yourself, tell you that you can’t do it!
