Jungle Tots Dainfern Valley

Our Easter theme brought so much joy and excitement to our little learners! The children had a wonderful time getting creative, making a variety of Easter crafts—from colorful baskets to adorable bunny ears. There was plenty of laughter as they hopped around like little bunnies, fully embracing the festive spirit.

The highlight of our celebrations was the Easter picnic, made extra special by a visit from a delightful farmyard. The children loved feeding the animals and enjoyed gentle pony rides, creating unforgettable memories. The face painter was also a big hit, transforming little faces into works of art.

Of course, the most exciting moment of all was the Easter hunt! Each child had their own personalised Easter bag, making the experience even more special as they searched high and low for their treats.

What a fun-filled and magical Easter celebration it was! 🐰🐰🐰

Learning All About Insects 🐞🐝🦋

This week our toddlers had so much fun learning all about insects! The children enjoyed running around the garden, fluttering like butterflies and crawling like little caterpillars as they explored how insects move.

Our creative time was filled with exciting crafts. The children made a paper plate bee, a beautiful butterfly, a red ant, a paper plate ladybug, and a colourful caterpillar.
They loved using different materials and showing off their wonderful creations.
During our perceptual activities, everything was insect-themed. The children enjoyed insect puzzles, colour boards, insect memory matching games, matching similar insects, scooping insects, and many other fun activities that helped develop their thinking and coordination skills.

It was a busy and exciting week of learning, movement, and creativity as we discovered the fascinating world of insects together! 🦋🐝🐞🐜

Theme of the Week: To the Moon! 🚀🌙

Our theme for the week was To the Moon, and the children had so much fun exploring all things space! From decorating rockets to pretending to be astronauts, everyone enjoyed the exciting activities.

The children worked on space puzzles, played space snap card games, and built rockets using different shapes. These activities helped develop their thinking, matching, and problem-solving skills while learning through play.
We also spent time looking at books about space and enjoyed imaginative play
with space rockets, which was a big highlight for many of the children.

To end the week on a sweet note, the children decorated cupcakes with space-themed decorations — definitely the favourite activity of the week! 🧁🚀

This week, we explored the wonderful world of shapes! The children learned to recognize and talk about different shapes through a variety of fun, hands-on activities.

We experimented with different sensory textures using shape materials, helping to build both tactile awareness and shape recognition. Many of our perceptual activities focused on identifying, matching, and creating shapes in playful and engaging ways.
The children had so much fun making their own shape crowns and wearing their creations proudly! We also took our learning outdoors, playing shape games in the garden and discovering shapes in our natural environment.

It was a week full of creativity, exploration, and learning!

Wonderful Week of Colours 🌈

Last week, we had so much fun learning all about colours!
The children enjoyed exploring colours through a variety of exciting activities. We got creative during arts and crafts, using bright paints to mix and discover new colours. The children loved experimenting and seeing what happened when colours were combined!

We also had lots of active fun playing with colourful balls. The children practised sorting, matching, and naming different colours while building their coordination skills.

Story time was extra special as we read books filled with bright and beautiful illustrations. The children enjoyed talking about the colours they could see and sharing their favourites.

One of the highlights of the week was our balloon bubble play with red and white balloons 🎈 The children had great fun tossing, catching, counting, and working together during this sensory activity.

It was a joyful and creative week full of colour, laughter, and learning!

Valentine’s Week Fun ❤️
A little late, but too special not to share!
Last week, we celebrated Valentine’s Week by exploring the colour red and the shape of a heart. The children had such a wonderful time taking part in a variety of red-themed sensory activities. From scooping and pouring red rice, to squishing red playdough and enjoying red water play, there were so many hands-on opportunities for exploration and creativity.
We also created beautiful arts and crafts, incorporating hearts into our work in different ways. The children were incredibly proud of their lovely creations!
One of the biggest highlights was receiving their very own Valentine’s post — the excitement on their faces was absolutely priceless. We wrapped up the week with a special Valentine’s party, celebrating friendship, sharing, and lots of fun together.
It was truly a week filled with learning, laughter, and love. 💌✨

We explored the exciting world of “Dream Jobs”! The kids learned about different community helpers and important professions — from brave firefighters and dedicated police officers to caring doctors and skilled pilots. To wrap up our week, we had a special Career Dress-Up Day, where everyone came to school dressed as their dream job. It was wonderful to see the creativity, enthusiasm, and big dreams our little people shared.

Last Week’s Theme: Tutti Fruity! 🍎🍉🍌
The week was bursting with fruity fun! We explored a variety of fruits through hands-on sampling, sorting, and classifying activities. The children got creative making colorful apple crowns and watermelon paper plate crafts. They enjoyed a “lick and stick” apple activity and even filled their very own fruit bowls. It was a wonderful week full of learning, creativity, and healthy treats!

Nature’s Playground was our theme for the week, and what a wonderful time we had! We spent lots of time outdoors, exploring the garden, playing in the sandpit, and enjoying all that nature has to offer.

The children especially loved watering the plants and getting involved in gardening activities — definite highlights of the week! 🍀🍃🍂🍁🌿🌱🪻🌼

What a fun week we had last week being little builders! 🛠️👷‍♂️
From building towers with blocks to digging and scooping in the sandpit with our construction vehicles, our days were filled with creativity and teamwork. We even practiced our hammering skills by banging nails and role-playing as busy builders on the playground! To wrap up our construction theme, we celebrated with a fun-filled construction party — hard hats, tool belts, and all. What a blast!

Spring into Learning!
During our first weeks back at school, we've been diving into all things Spring! The children have enjoyed a variety of seasonal crafts, including handprint flowers, blossoming trees, sunflowers, and colorful Spring crowns.
We've also made the most of the warm weather by spending lots of time outdoors—exploring nature, soaking up the sunshine, and experiencing all the joys that Spring has to offer! 🌼🌸🌹🌺🌷🥀
