Meet our mwalimu: Nduku Mulumba
Mme Nduku Mulumba is a Kenyan-born educator, researcher, language specialist, and community organizer committed to advancing African-centered education and liberation. Raised in Kenya, she moved to the United States at the age of 20, giving her a unique perspective shaped by lived experience on both the African continent and in the African diaspora.
After working for nearly eight years as a Swahili Language Analyst with the U.S. federal government, Nduku gained firsthand insight into American institutions, law, and public systems. Those experiences, combined with years of study and deep engagement with African, African American, and broader diaspora communities, led her to critically examine how historical and contemporary systems have affected African-descended people in the United States.
