The Johannesburg School of Mask and Movement Theatre Dedicated to the development of excellence in mask and movement theatre.

​​JMAM is dedicated to the development of artistic excellence in the medium of mask and movement theatre. Our experienced pedagogic team offer a variety of workshops and training aimed at aspiring theatre-makers, performers, existing theatre practitioners, and artists wishing to expand their creative and poetic limits. Founded by South African theatre practitioners Roberto Pombo, Kyla Davis, Daniel Buckland and Mlindeli Zondi, JMAM is based on the pedagogy of movement theatre developed by Jacques Lecoq. Through rigorous practice and serious play, the school's vision is to create a generation of insightful practitioners who create thought-provoking and quality theatre.
