Learning to read vowels is an essential step in becoming a proficient reader. Vowels are the building blocks of words, and understanding their sounds is crucial for accurate pronunciation and comprehension.
One effective way to learn vowels is through phonics, which teaches the relationship between letters and sounds. This method helps learners recognise the distinct sounds of each vowel and how they combine with consonants to form words.
Another helpful tool for learning vowels is reading aloud. By sounding out words and paying attention to vowel sounds, readers can improve their ability to recognise and differentiate between vowels.
With practice and dedication, anyone can master the art of reading vowels and unlock a world of knowledge and understanding.

SIGHT WORDS – a reading necessity?
Most definitely.
Sight words are common words that learners recognize by sight, and because the words do not have to be phonetically sounded out, learners can read faster and more fluently.
This uninterrupted text flow should result in a better understanding of what is read and improve the learner’s focus and confidence.
There are hundreds if not thousands of common sight words, so how does one go about helping children memorize these words without the ‘hum drum’ of tedious repetition?
I have found that the game-based approach to learning makes instructional goals more easily achievable. The learner wants to play and become involved in the activity and stay motivated to learn. A win-win situation!
