TRASHY FASHION SHOW 2015
Come join us for a “night at the sight” on the 4 September 2015 when GLA will be hosting there annual trashy fashion show!
It’s that time of year again where we have to pack out all those recyclable goodies that we stored and thought we could use sometime – It’s time to put them to good use and start designing! Its GLA’s trashy fashion show time.
This is a fun filled event for the whole family – with loads of tasty homemade foods to buy, live music and an amazing selection of creative runway talent.
So why not get creative and start designing your dress?
You can use materials from the office, business cards, packaging materials, garbage bags, bottle caps, plastic bottles, tin cans, bubble wrap, string etc.
Companies as well as individuals can enter a dress for R350 and stand a chance to win in the various categories. As always, all outfits must be made from any recyclable materials. The dress can be lined with normal material but covered with the recyclable items so no material is visible.
To make it more fair this year for all the creative contestants we have appointed a panel of judges and also implemented various age groups:
• Junior Primary 1-8 years
• Senior Primary 9-13 years
• High School 14-18 years
• Open 19 years and up
We are going to have different categories this year in which you can qualify for a price, here are some of the categories:
• Public favourite
• Most original dress
• Miss Personality
• Most creative dress
• Best built school uniform made from recyclable items
• Dress with the most variety of recyclable items
• Most creative accessories
• Characters build out of recyclable items and many more.
If you feel that your creative buds are not flowering but you still want to take part and help build our school, no problem! A group of school kids will be appointed to design and make your outfit.
Night Market
As always, we will have our night market where anyone can sell home made products for R50 per stall. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
All funds will go towards the building of our new GLA eco school campus.
