Vision Tour looked a little different this year. 🇿🇦
Instead of heading straight for the USA, a small group of GLA students spent the past week in Cape Town — taking on challenges designed to get them out of their comfort zones and into the real world of business and entrepreneurship.
They didn’t just learn about starting a business. They had to start things themselves, find ways to make money to help fund their trip, solve problems along the way and learn what it takes to turn an idea into something people are actually willing to pay for.
They also had some incredible opportunities along the way. At New Balance South Africa, the students got to see behind the scenes of a major global brand and even pitch their ideas to executives. They also spent time with Triga Ventures, learning from people who are actively building businesses and investing in entrepreneurs.
There were plenty of other experiences, conversations and challenges along the way — and, of course, some time to enjoy Cape Town too!
The students arrived home last night with plenty to think about. Now the real work begins: taking what they have learned and putting it into practice as they prepare for the US leg of Vision Tour next year. 🇺🇸
Proud of this small group and the way they embraced the challenges. There is a lot more to come!
