Save a Learner’s Future Calls for Urgent Action on R**e Allegations in Schools

Save a Learner’s Future notes with grave concern the reports of r**e allegations in schools. Such allegations are serious and must be treated with urgency. Schools are meant to educate and prepare young people for a better future and a stronger country, not to traumatize them.

We call on the affected school to investigate thoroughly and release its findings. The district must ensure the school concludes the process without delay and encourage other learners to report similar experiences. The SGB must push for accountability and resolution.

If the allegations are confirmed, the state must charge the implicated teachers. The MEC for Education, Mr. Gade, must ensure that these measures are enforced across the province.

Our education system must be safe. Communities must unite to rid schools of abuse and protect the future of our learners.
