Today, we celebrate the incredible people who stand at the heart of our school — our teachers.

As HPS Management and the SGB, and on behalf of each and every one of our learners and parents, we would like to wish our teachers a very Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Teaching is so much more than standing in front of a classroom. It is patience when the day feels long, courage when challenges feel overwhelming, creativity when resources are limited, compassion when a learner is struggling, and resilience when the demands seem endless.

Our teachers face challenges every single day — changing expectations, heavy workloads, diverse learning needs, administrative demands, limited resources, emotional pressures and the responsibility of shaping young lives. Yet, despite these challenges, they continue to show up, teach, encourage, listen, support, guide and believe.

As we close the term and head into the holidays, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our people, our progress and our proudly South African HPS spirit! 🌍✨

To our learners — thank you for showing up, giving your best and making us proud. Your growth from Term 1 to Term 3 has been incredible, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings! 🌱📚

To our parents — thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement and partnership. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for our HPS village. ❤️

And to our incredible teachers — THANK YOU! 🙌🏾 For the marking, teaching, guiding, counselling, encouraging, problem-solving, extra hours and everything that happens behind the scenes. Your dedication and commitment to our learners does not go unnoticed. You have poured your hearts into this term, and the growth we see in our learners is a reflection of that hard work. 👏🏾🍎

❤️ 'HUMANS'dorp Primary School stands together against Gender-Based Violence

Today, we raise our voices for something that affects our communities far beyond the walls of our school.

Gender-Based Violence is never acceptable. It affects women and girls, but violence can also be experienced by men, boys and people of all backgrounds. Every person deserves to feel safe, valued and respected.

Stand by our principles of:

🌱 Empowerment — giving every person the confidence to use their voice and stand up for what is right.
⭐ Excellence — choosing to be the best version of ourselves, including in the way we treat others.
⚖️ Equity — recognising that every person deserves dignity, fairness and safety.
🤝 Community — looking out for one another and creating a culture where kindness is stronger than violence.

Let us teach our children that strength is not shown through fear, intimidation or violence. True strength is shown through respect, self-control, compassion and kindness.

Let’s build a South Africa where our children grow up knowing that “no” means no, differences can be handled with respect, conflict can be resolved without violence, and every person has the right to feel safe.

Good afternoon, parents and members of our community.

Very soon, our learners will have a beautiful new library, a space where stories can inspire imagination, knowledge can grow, and a lifelong love of reading can begin. We would love for our whole school community to help us bring this library to life.

We are therefore asking our families and community members to help us fill the shelves with wonderful books for our learners to enjoy. Every book donated will become part of something special and will help create opportunities for our children to read, learn, explore and dream.

Please see the poster below for more information about the types of books we are looking for.

We are also making it a little exciting for our learners! The class that brings the most books will win a class prize. Our challenge is for every class to collect at least 40 books.

Let’s see if we can reach, and even exceed, this goal together. One book at a time, we can build a library that will impact our learners for many years to come. ❤️📚

Just like a puzzle, every piece has its own shape, purpose and place, and when we come together, we create something truly beautiful. ❤️💙

Every teacher brings something unique to our school: passion, patience, creativity, knowledge, laughter, encouragement and a whole lot of heart. It is the combination of these special pieces that helps our learners grow, dream and believe in themselves.
