Nico Malan High School’s 1st XI delivered a masterclass at the Point High Cricket Festival, securing an undefeated run with three commanding victories.
Friday (50 Overs):
The weekend opened with a strong 206-run victory over Outeniqua. After posting 255/5, led by Estian van Staden’s 55 and Tian Jordaan’s unbeaten 42, our bowlers ruthlessly dismantled the opposition for just 49 runs.
Hanno Nel (3/2), Ruan Nel (3/4), and Daniël Veldsman (3/12) were exceptional.
Saturday (50 Overs):
The bowling unit remained relentless, bowling out the Oakdale Dolphins for exactly 50 runs.
Ruan Nel (3/13), Daniël Veldsman (3/14), and Hanno Nel (2/18) paved the way for a clinical 6-wicket win.
Monday (T20):
We capped off the festival with a swift 5-wicket chase against Boland Landbou 2nd XI. Restricting them to 115/8, Ruan Nel again starred with the ball (3/12) before contributing 33 runs alongside Ivan van Staden, who smashed an explosive 50 off just 22 balls to seal the victory.
Consistent bowling, explosive batting, and clinical ex*****on across all formats. An incredibly proud weekend for Nico Malan cricket.
