Hi, I’m Tarry! 👋
It’s been a while since I did one of these introduction posts, so here goes:

This is my inspiration, Livingstone—named after the legendary explorer David Livingstone. His adventurous spirit reminds me to keep exploring, learning, and sharing. I’m proud to say that Livingstone already has such an adventurous spirit too! 🧭

I founded Kids In The Wild in 2021 because of my deep love for the bush, safari, and wilderness. 🌿

I've always dreamed of being a teacher, and creating content that encourages learning has been a natural path for me. KITW was born from blending my love for nature and teaching.

A few fun facts about me:
🧡 Favourite animal: the incredible hyena—smart, resilient, and endlessly fascinating.
📚 Favorite subject on the Pangolin Course: Animal Behaviour—because understanding animals helps us appreciate them even more.

Under the sea 🌊 Livvy and I are currently in Kwa-Zulu Natal and I couldn’t help but think about all the wonders that are under the sea, so let’s delve into the mesmerising world of coral reefs with this captivating infographic.

How many of the ocean’s creatures can you spot as we embark on this underwater journey together?

First and foremost, coral reefs are biodiversity hotspots, housing a mind-boggling array of marine life. From the tiniest clownfish to the magnificent sea turtles, countless species call coral reefs home.

In fact, these reefs support over a quarter of all marine species, making them one of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth.

But their significance goes beyond being a haven for marine life. Coral reefs act as natural barriers, protecting coastlines from erosion and buffering against the full force of storms. They are also vital for millions of people who depend on them for food, income, and protection.

Fishing communities rely on coral reefs for sustenance and livelihoods, while the tourism industry thrives on their allure, drawing visitors from around the globe.
