Cowan House Prep School Co-Educational Independent Preparatory School based in Hilton, Kwazulu Natal. Grade RRR to Grade 7.

Nestled in the leafy suburb of Hilton and set on a 11 hectare property, Cowan House Independent Preparatory School offers an educational experience which encourages self-belief, curiosity, and the unlocking of a childโ€™s potential. We offer co-educational schooling for the most vital and formative years from Grade RRR to Grade 7, with Boarding available from Grade 1 in our homely boarding houses. Cowan House offers unique opportunities for both day scholars and boarders, in an environment which is both independent and co-education. Our U11A and 1st Team cricketers enjoyed a fantastic North Coast Tour filled with exciting cricket, teamwork, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Highlights included a thrilling U11A win over Ashton, with Rudolph Pollard scoring an unbeaten 100 and Ross Ekerold taking a wicket off the final ball to seal a dramatic victory.

The U11A side remained unbeaten throughout the tour, recording impressive wins against Ashton and Grantleigh.

The 1st Team showed great determination in a series of closely contested matches, narrowly missing out against strong opposition.

A special congratulations to all the players for the way they represented Cowan House on and off the field.

Cowan House welcomed renowned birder and author Adam Riley yesterday evening for an entertaining and educational Birding Quiz.

Working in teams, the children tested their knowledge of bird calls, species identification and migration patterns, showcasing both their enthusiasm for nature and impressive birding skills.

Congratulations to the winning team, who received a signed copy of Adamโ€™s latest book, Birds of South Africa.

A big thank you to Adam for sharing his expertise and passion with our pupils, inspiring the next generation of birders and conservationists.

Our third Swimathon in aid of PinkDrive was held on the 14th of October. It was the most wonderful celebration of everything that makes the Cowan House community so special.

We are deeply grateful to our parents, children, staff, and sponsors who embraced this event with such generosity, enthusiasm, and wholehearted support. From the swimmers in the pool to the supporters cheering from the sidelines, every person played a part in making the day so meaningful.

PinkDrive is a cause that is close to the hearts of many within our community, and it was incredibly moving to come together in support of those who have faced cancer themselves, as well as the families and loved ones who have walked that journey alongside them.

Thanks to the remarkable kindness and generosity of our Cowan House family, we raised a significant amount of money to support PinkDrive's vital work in providing cancer education and mobile screening services to communities across our province.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, participated, sponsored, donated, and encouraged others to get involved. Your willingness to give so generously will make a real difference in the lives of many women.

We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to the wonderful PinkDrive team who joined us. Your passion, dedication, and commitment to serving others inspired us all.

As a school, we could not be prouder of the compassion, kindness, and community spirit shown throughout the event.

Thank you, Cowan House families, for opening your hearts so generously and for making our third Swimathon such an overwhelming success.
