As is customary, we wrapped up our Term 3 Half Term with our U9 to Open Inter House Athletics Day. Our boys and girls showed off some incredible athletic talent, and we are proud of each one of them for being part of the day.

At the end of the morning it was Mackenzie House who earned top honours both as the winning house, as well as the Spirit Cup! A big thank you to our Guest of Honour, Mrs Melanie Govindsamy.

We are excited to see our athletes compete in the upcoming Inter Schools Athletics meets over the coming weeks.

Our young athletes gave it their all last week, as they competed in several events, showcasing determination, enthusiasm and incredible house spirit.

The fun wasn't limited to the children. Our moms eagerly joined in for a special fun race, while the dads finished off the morning in style with a fast-paced sprint on the track!

Well done to all of our boys and girls who participated and proudly represented their houses. Thank you also, to our staff, parents and supporters who helped create such a memorable event.

Athletics season at Cowan House is well underway, and as a lead up to our Inter House Athletics events, our Junior and Senior Field events took place earlier this week.

Good luck to our Grade 6 Boys participating in the Kearsney College 5s Hockey Festival this half term. Here's to a weekend of great hockey, passionate playing and loads of fun.

Good luck to Grade 7 pupil, Ross H, who has been selected to the U14 SA Polocrosse team that is representing South Africa against Zimbabwe at Thornpark from 21st- 23rd August. The team will be playing three test matches over that period.

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟑 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧

Our Grade 3s ventured outside recently and enjoyed their own outdoor Art lesson. Being on the cusp of Spring, the gardens we're so peaceful, being able to sketch with the scent of jasmine filling the air. The tree branches made lovely shadows which the children enjoyed drawing and experimenting with.

How lucky are we to have such a beautiful campus where our children are able to do real drawings like 'mini botanists'.

Being away from home at a young age takes courage. Our Junior boarders show it every day. At Cowan House, we make sure every little milestone is celebrated, because a home away from home means never missing out on life's special moments ❤

Good luck to Grade 4 pupil, Lexi P, who is competing in the Junior Africa Champs at San Lameer. Lexi is competing in the Girls 10 group. She started the competition yesterday and has another 3 days ahead.

Lexi is joined by her sister Maddison (Class of 2025) who is competing in her own age group.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐑𝐑 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬

Dressed in their animal prints and camo outfits, armed with binoculars and plenty of enthusiasm, our Grade RRR children climbed aboard the Cowan House safari vehicles and set off in search of wildlife. What an adventure it was.

From animals hiding in the bushes to those perched in the trees and even a few crawling across the ground, there was so much to discover. Keen eyed safari-goers may even have noticed that some of the animals looked remarkably similar to our Grade R children.

Being part of a broader school campus allows our youngest children to enjoy the best of both worlds: exciting opportunities that bring classroom themes to life, while ensuring activities remain safe, engaging and age-appropriate.

Learning through play and exploration has never been so much fun!
