International Day of Play reminds us that play is far more than just fun. Through play, children develop their language, movement, problem solving, confidence, creativity and social skills.💬

Every time a baby shakes a rattle, a toddler stacks blocks or a child pretends to cook a meal, they are learning important skills that will support them throughout life.

At Toptots, play is not simply something we do to fill time. Every activity is carefully designed to support development whilst strengthening the bond between parent and child.🧠🌱

When children play, they are learning. When parents play alongside them, they are building connection, confidence and memories that last a lifetime.🧸

Sharing is not a skill that children automatically understand. Young children are still learning about ownership, turn taking, empathy and social relationships. These skills develop gradually over time through guidance, modelling and practice.🧠

Rather than expecting perfect sharing, we can support children as they learn these important social skills at their own pace.👀⭐️

Young children learn best when they are actively involved in an experience rather than simply being told about it. Whether they are pouring water, helping you bake or exploring nature, children learn through hands on experiences that allow them to investigate, experiment and discover.🧠💬
 
Learning through doing helps children develop problem solving skills, confidence, creativity and a deeper understanding of the world around them. This is why play based learning is so powerful. When children are actively engaged, learning becomes meaningful, memorable and fun.☀️
 
The next time your child wants to help with a simple everyday task, remember that they are not just keeping busy. They are learning through doing.
