Our soccer season has been an exciting one so far, with our teams producing some outstanding performances on the field. While the results have certainly been impressive, what has stood out most has been the way our boys have played the game.
Throughout the season, they have acquitted themselves exceptionally well, displaying determination, teamwork, and a love for the sport. Just as importantly, their sportsmanship has been exemplary – something of which the entire Highbury community can be incredibly proud.
Here are our 1st Team boys celebrating their A League finals victory. Well done, boys!

There was plenty of spirit around school today as the boys arrived dressed in their green and gold supporter gear ahead of this evening’s FIFA World Cup match.
The excitement continued into lunchtime, where our catering team went all out to create a memorable experience. The dining hall was decorated for the occasion, and on the menu were "soccer balls and shoelaces" (spaghetti and meatballs), followed by soccer ball ice creams for dessert.
We wish Bafana Bafana the very best for tonight’s match. The whole Highbury community will be cheering them on!

What a day! The Highbury Family Day brought our community together for a truly memorable day. With sunshine overhead and smiles everywhere you looked, the field was filled with families enjoying time together.
The Fun Run was a particular highlight, with children and their parents giving it their all and crossing the finish line to plenty of cheers and encouragement.
A huge thank you to our incredible Highbury Association for the months of planning and hard work that went into making the day such a success. A special mention must go to Mrs Jenna Jones, whose dedication, organisation, and countless hours behind the scenes ensured everything ran seamlessly.
We are also incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors for their support, and especially to our headline sponsor, Lillies Quarter, for helping make this special day possible.
Most of all, thank you to every family who came along and joined in. Seeing the Highbury community together, making memories and enjoying each other's company, is what Family Day is all about. We can't wait to do it all again next year.

Our 2026 Highbury Mini Marathon welcomed hundreds of enthusiastic children from local pre-schools, alongside our own Weavers’ Nest and Grade R children.
The morning got off to a great start with a Playball warm-up before the children tackled the Mini Marathon with energy and excitement. Every runner proudly received a medal at the finish line.
Our Highbury djembe drummers kept the atmosphere buzzing, with some air drumming from the crowd, and Mrs Dalton rounded off the morning with a dance party that had everyone on their feet.
It was a fun morning filled with community spirit.

Our music concert on 2 June was a wonderful evening of music and performance, showcasing the talent and dedication of boys across a range of instruments and age groups. Some of the performers took to the stage as beginners, while others demonstrated the confidence and skill that come from years of practice and commitment.
A special highlight of the evening was the performance by Highbury Old Boys, Jahan Seery, Mithra Seery, and Musanda Nene, who returned to perform an original piece they wrote together.
The audience was also treated to a wonderful performance by our marimba band.
Congratulations to all the boys who performed. We are incredibly proud of the effort, courage, and passion they brought to the stage.

The Grade R boys have discovered the sweet nectar inside the salvia flowers, and it has quickly become a favourite. Carefully picking the flowers, they’ve been showing each other exactly how to find the tiny drop of nectar hidden inside.
Don’t worry, they also know the golden rule: always leave some behind for the bees and sunbirds 🐝

One of the newest traditions at Highbury is already proving to be a special one.
Our 'Come Dine With Me' initiative invites Grade 3 parents to join their sons for lunch in the dining hall and experience an important part of the school day firsthand.
While sharing a meal together is always a treat, the dining hall is also where boys learn so much more than what’s on their plates. It’s a place where manners are practised, conversations are encouraged, confidence grows, and respect for others becomes part of everyday life.
It has been wonderful for parents to get a glimpse into this unique part of the Highbury experience.

Thank you to Winston Park Primary School for joining us for an enjoyable afternoon of chess yesterday. It was wonderful to see so many children putting their concentration, strategy, and sportsmanship to the test across the boards. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect through friendly competition and look forward to seeing you again soon.

There was much excitement in Grade R this morning, as their bike track was officially opened for them to explore. Some boys are avid cyclists, while some are still a bit wobbly. By the end of the year, we have no doubt they'll be confidently speeding around the field!
