A huge well done to our Grade 5 LEAP Learners!

As part of the LEAP extension programme, our Grade 5 LEAP learners have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of external competitions, including the SARF Road Safety Competition and the Panda Paints Art Competition.

A huge congratulations to Oliver Chang, who made it through to the finals of the SARF Road Safety Speech Competition and received a commendation for his achievement. What a fantastic accomplishment!

We are also incredibly proud of Kelsey Prinsloo, who received a commendation for her artwork in the Panda Paints Art Competition, selected from over 400 artworks submitted.

Well done, Oliver and Kelsey! Your creativity, confidence and willingness to take on new challenges are a wonderful reflection of the spirit of LEAP.

⚙️ Grade 5F Gets Creative! ♻️
Grade 5F put their Natural Sciences learning into action by creating their very own machines using recyclable materials! 🤖🔧
We’ve been learning that machines make our lives easier, help us do work, and require different types of energy input to operate. Last week, the learners got to bring those ideas to life through creativity, teamwork and a whole lot of imagination! 🌟
They absolutely loved every second of it — and their creativity was incredible! From clever designs to very interesting inventions, there was definitely no shortage of ideas in our classroom. 😄 Automatic pet feeder, a hairdryer, a washing machine, a fridge, a massage gun were a few creations.
And of course… Mrs F even got a blow-wave out of it! 💨😂

Well done, Grade 5F! You certainly showed that learning can be hands-on, messy, creative and FUN! 👏✨

Once again, at the beginning of the term, we had the pleasure of having Hooked on Books entertain us with their book-inspired show. They never fail to inspire younger readers with their energetic, fun-filled performance that encourages audience participation and leaves the children wanting to know, “What happens next?”. This year even the teachers were included in the fun.

🔥🚒 F IS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🚒🔥

Our Grade R learners had an absolute blast this morning when the Hillcrest Fire Department paid them a very special visit!

On such a hot day, the firefighters treated the children to possibly the BIGGEST sprinkler they have ever seen – the perfect way to cool off while having loads of fun!

And, of course, there was some learning involved too… today our Grade Rs discovered that the letter F is for FIREMAN! 🚒

A huge thank you to the Hillcrest Fire Department for making this morning so memorable for our little ones. 💚

We just have one question… can the teachers and admin staff join in next time too?
