Our Grade 9 Physical Science students have been hard at work on their Science Fair projects since the beginning of the year.
Each student selected a topic that interested them, developed a scientific question they can test and designed an experiment to investigate it. Through this process, they practised using the scientific method, explored new ideas and discovered some very interesting results.
One of the most valuable lessons was learning that experiments do not always go according to plan. Many of our budding scientists had to adapt, research further, make improvements, and try again — an important part of real scientific thinking.
A parent who attended the evening shared how impressed he was to see the students learning to overcome the challenges they faced in their experiments. It was also wonderful to have our Grade 6 Waterfall Prep students enjoy the Science Fair and be inspired by the projects on display.
Congratulations to all our Grade 9 students on their hard work and curiosity.

Well done, Grade 9s!

Our Waterfall Preparatory School and Waterfall College staff came together to reconnect after the Easter break. Good food and even better company filled the morning with laughter and energy. Moments like these remind us how important it is to pause, connect and enjoy being part of a team that feels like family.
Connection is key at Waterfall Schools 💙

10 years of little moments, big milestones and lots of love at Waterfall Pre-primary. ❤
On the 28th of February, Waterfall Pre-Primary School celebrated a very special milestone - 10 years, a place where little people take their very first steps into learning.
2026 marks a decade since Waterfall Pre-primary found its new home on the iThemba Campus and became the Waterfall Pre-Primary we see today. Since then, we’ve been nurturing little ones in a warm, safe and joyful environment designed especially for their earliest years.
From first smiles and curious crawls to muddy feet, painted hands and proud “I did it!” moments, every day has been filled with learning, play and growth. Our classrooms and outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully created for little learners to explore, imagine and grow at their own pace.
Thank you to our families, children and staff who have helped shape this beautiful journey. We are so proud to be part of your child’s early years and can’t wait to create many more happy memories together.
Here’s to many more years of play, learning and care at Waterfall Pre-Primary.

Learning came alive for our Grade 5s during their recent excursion to Ushaka Marine world . Walking through the aquarium tunnels, they came face-to-face with sharks, rays and vibrant marine life they had previously only seen in textbooks and on screens. The excitement continued at the dolphin show, where the intelligence and agility of these incredible animals left everyone amazed.
One of the most memorable moments was a hands-on fish dissection, where our pupils bravely explored the internal structure of a fish and deepened their understanding of marine life (with varying levels of enthusiasm).
It was a day filled with curiosity, discovery and unforgettable learning experiences.

Lights, Action, Assessment: Our Grade 10 Drama class put theory into practice after weeks of studying children’s theatre. For their formal assessment, they performed 'Once Upon a Job Interview' live for our Foundation Phase Waterfall Preparatory School pupils.
The students brought incredible energy, creativity and focus to the stage. It was a fantastic session full of learning, fun and a few nerves!

This year, our non-profit partner, Focus on iThemba, is celebrating a meaningful milestone - 10 years of partnership with four local pre-schools. These anniversaries reflect a shared, long-term commitment to investing in the potential of children through early childhood development. One that we value and share.
On Friday, 13 February, the Focus on iThemba team had the privilege of celebrating with Smiley Kids and Sthandokuhle Pre-School. It was a day marked by joy, warmth and deep gratitude - a reminder of what can grow when schools and partners walk a journey together over time.
As shared by Eunice Ngubane, Principal of Sthandokuhle Pre-School: “I praise God for Focus on iThemba and the blessing they have been to my school. Everything they do and have done has been to help me deliver quality education to my children.”
Focus on iThemba's partnership with these pre-schools has supported the strengthening of early childhood development in underserved communities, helping raise standards, build confidence and create more supportive learning environments for young children. We are thankful for these partnerships and look forward to being part of continued growth in the years ahead.
