Something exciting is taking shape at Waterfall College. We're proud to announce that construction on our new specialist learning block has begun.

Purpose-designed to inspire creativity, innovation and excellence, the new building will feature specialist Visual Art and Dramatic Arts studios, alongside a commercial-style Consumer Studies kitchen, giving our high school students access to facilities that reflect the exceptional quality of teaching already taking place in these subjects.

The development will also include a large multi-purpose venue suitable for Matric examinations, assemblies and school events, as well as a number of flexible breakaway spaces to support small-group learning and a variety of academic and co-curricular activities.

This exciting addition reflects our continued commitment to providing exceptional learning environments where every child can thrive. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to encourage collaboration, creativity and confidence, while supporting the diverse needs of our growing school community.

As construction progresses, we'll be sharing regular updates as we watch this exciting new chapter come to life. This is more than a new building - it's an investment in the next generation of artists, performers, creators and innovators.

A special Waterfall College moment this morning.

Prefect Kabelo shared a meaningful conversation with Snakhokonke in Grade 8. Even with trial exams beginning next week, Kabelo still takes the time to check in on the younger students he leads.

It's moments like these that truly reflect the heart of Waterfall College, where leadership is about serving others, showing kindness and making every student feel seen and supported.

We are so proud of the example our senior students set every day.

What a fantastic day on the fairways!

Our Waterfall Schools Golf Day, held at Cotswold Downs Golf Estate on 30 July, was a wonderful celebration of golf, connection and community.

From friendly competition and valuable networking to plenty of laughter and fun games that kept everyone young at heart, the day was enjoyed by all. Our four-ball alliances embraced the spirit of the event, making for a memorable day both on and off the course.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our generous sponsors for helping make the day a success, with special appreciation to Smiths Property, BMW Pinetown, MINI Pinetown, Obsurv Technology and Kayser Baird. Your support plays a vital role in making events like these possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. All proceeds from the day will go towards enhancing our sports facilities.

The Grade 11 Dance, held on 1 August, saw our school hall transformed into a vibrant 'Night in Rio'.

Dressed in dazzling colours, our Grade 11s arrived ready to celebrate, connect and dance the night away. From the energy on the dance floor to the unforgettable memories made with friends, it was an evening filled with laughter and fun.

As Grade 11 student Amelia shared:
"The Grade 11 Dance is definitely a memory I'll treasure forever! My favourite part was the incredible colourful decor and all the flowers that we worked on together as a grade. Creating them was such a fun bonding experience and seeing everything come together on the night made us so proud."

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated parents and teachers whose creativity, encouragement and countless hours of hard work brought our 'Night in Rio' to life. Your support made this unforgettable evening possible.

Outstanding results from our Junior Debating Team at the KZN Debating Championships this July!

Congratulations to Keira and Hlelolenkosi, whose team progressed to the Plate Final, finishing as Runners-up. An extra special congratulations to Keira, who was named one of the Top 10 Speakers in the Junior Division and has earned selection to the KZN Team.

Well done also to Phelelisa, whose team reached the Junior Open Quarter-finals, showcasing determination and impressive debating skills throughout the competition.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Sissing for accompanying our students and serving as an adjudicator at the championships. Your guidance and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference.

We are incredibly proud of all our debaters for representing Waterfall College with confidence, skill and excellence.

Congratulations to all our learners who were recognised at our Assembly on 21 July for their outstanding sporting and academic achievements. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished through your dedication, perseverance and hard work. Every award reflects the commitment and effort you've shown both in the classroom and on the sports field.

A special mention to our wonderful Prep Choir, who filled the assembly with beautiful music as they performed for the College. Your voices made the occasion even more memorable and showcased the incredible talent within our school community.

Well done to every award recipient and choir member. Keep doing what you love – we can't wait to see what you'll achieve next!
