I am a botanical artist offering lessons in how to make sugar flowers in my home studio.

Hello lovely people. I hope you are all keeping well.

At the beginning of last year The School of Contemporary Cake Design was flying high.
We were running a full range of courses and managing to fill all our classes.
Hard work was certainly paying off.
Then Covid hit us and we went into lock down.

During that time both Di and I have been keeping busy.

I have reconnected with nature, those of you who know me will know that I've always had a passion for environmental issues.
I've written 3 books and have recently joined forces with an NPO and will be using my book characters to inspire children to respect the environment. It is something that I would not have envisaged possible this time last year.

Di has several ideas in the pipeline, she has plans to teach in Cape Town and is looking into doing online courses.

So where does this leave the school?

We were considering continuing business as usual, but the building we are renting is changing hands. So, it is with some sadness that we have decided to sell the School of Contemporary Design.

It is a wonderful business opportunity for a young, enthusiastic cake decorator.
All the following will be included in the sale
1.logos, signage, banners, fb and ig pages
2.tables, drying cupboard, wall units, overhead projector, magnetic white board.
3 tins, bowls, rollers, spacers, smoother..... extensive equipment list available on request.
4.student handouts, teaching plans, PowerPoint presentations.. Everything needed to start business immediately.

Hello everyone, I have been meaning to let you all know what I have been up to lately.

I have decided to take a break from the school until next year. Lockdown showed me how exhausted I was. I am really enjoyed my time off.

I have established a beautiful vegetable garden and written and illustrated three children's books. ( Feel free to follow me on www.facebook.com/dawnboothbooks )

Di is still giving lessons. In order to comply with Covid regulations she is working from home and giving small classes. She is definitely the best in her field so now is the perfect opportunity to hone your flower making skills.
Di is still working under the School of Contemporary Cake Design.

Hello! Well while I have been trying to monkey proof my vegetable garden and launch my latest book, Di has been preparing for a couple of classes she will be giving in CT...once travel and life returns to normality.
How beautiful is this sugarcrafted lucky bean flower?

Hi everyone, we still don't know when the school will reopen. It's been over 120 days of lockdown. Whew it's getting frustrating.

I have been keeping really busy, this is the first of my lockdown babies, 44 pages of story and illustrations.

The Big Red Radish is a gardening book for children but it is a lovely little story in its own right. The book is the second in the Wally and Molly book series. It costs R200.

I am busy wrapping books and sending them out to people who have already ordered.
