Car safety is something we are particularly concerned about as individuals at Growing Tree.
We encourage all parents to ensure their child is rear-facing for as long as possible - we recommend until at least 4/5 years old - to ensure the best possible outcome one for your child should the unimaginable happen.
Readjust your child’s straps EVERY TIME you buckle them in for the securest fit. If you can pinch the strap between your fingers the straps are too loose. And please, PLEASE make sure the straps are not twisted or tangled.
Make sure your child does not take their arms out the straps. If they do take their arms out, pull over in a safe location and ensure the straps are correctly placed.
All of these little adjustments will cost you an extra few seconds of your time when putting your kiddo in the car safely but it could literally save their entire lives should you end up in an accident.
The extra seconds are not worth the cost of a life.
Be safe and buckle your children up safely 💕
A child needs to be at least 4 years, 15kg and 100cm tall to fit a highback booster safely. These are the MINIMUM requirements in order to fit a booster properly. However, there will be an overlap where your child may still fit in their toddler seat. If this is the case, keep them in their toddler seat until they outgrow it by weight or height. Children under 4 years do not yet have sufficiently ossified skeletons, and are at greater risk of injury in a booster. Furthermore, they are not mature enough to sit still and upright in a booster, and are very likely to unclip them selves/ lean / bend etc which puts them in an unsafe position.
They need to meet all 4 criteria before considering moving them to a booster seat. HOWEVER< if you have a bigger than average toddler who has already reached the maximum limits of their toddler seat, please contact us as there are very few suitable options that harness beyond 105cm/18kg.
