Ask a four-year-old to draw a dog and they'll start immediately. Ask a forty-year-old and they'll say, "Oh, I can't draw." Somewhere between those ages we learn to be embarrassed. Let's help them stay brave a little longer.

✨ TERM 4 β€” THE FIRST WEEK, AND WHAT AN AMAZING BEGINNING! ✨

The first week of Term 4 has started with a BANG! 🌟 Not just with the excitement of a new term, but with beautiful moments of achievement, growth, hope, and new beginnings.
πŸ“š AMAZING REPORT CARDS, PROUD MOMENTS, AND LITTLE VICTORIES! Every report card tells a story β€” a story of effort, perseverance, challenges overcome, lessons learned, and potential waiting to unfold. Behind every mark is a learner who is growing, a journey that deserves recognition, and a future filled with possibilities. We celebrate not only how far our learners have come, but also how far they can still go.
πŸ› AND THEN… THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY! Our playground project is taking its first steps towards becoming a reality! What may begin with recycled tyres, wood, poles, hard work, and a vision is growing into something far more meaningful than just a place to play. It is the beginning of a space where friendships will be formed, confidence will grow, creativity will flourish, and children will be free to laugh, explore, move, and simply enjoy being children.
At Sea Sight Academy and Sea Sight Little Tots, we believe that education is about so much more than books, lessons, and report cards. It is about building confidence, creating opportunities, nurturing dreams, and giving every child a place where they feel valued, supported, and inspired to become the best version of themselves.
Sometimes, the most beautiful things begin with the smallest steps β€” a good report card, a helping hand, a piece of recycled material, or someone who believes enough to start building something better.
This is more than the beginning of Term 4. It is the beginning of new possibilities, stronger foundations, brighter smiles, and dreams taking shape right before our eyes. ❀️
To our learners, parents, staff, and everyone who believes in our vision: thank you for being part of this journey. Every contribution, every encouraging word, every effort, and every small victory helps us build something that will last far beyond today.
🌈 We are not just teaching children. We are building futures. We are not just creating a playground. We are creating memories. And we are not just starting another term β€” we are opening the door to another chapter of growth, hope, and greatness.
Term 4, we are ready for you! Let the learning continue, let the laughter begin, and let the dreams grow! πŸš€πŸ’›

TERM 3 DONE & DUSTED!
What a wonderful way to end Term 3! After the last exam, our learners enjoyed their class parties, followed by a special farewell and birthday celebration all in one for our lovely Sacha.

A big thank you to everyone who made Term 3 so special. Now it’s time to rest, recharge and enjoy a well-deserved break. ❀️
We will reopen on 5 October 2026 for the final stretch of the year β€” Term 4! Let’s finish the year strong! πŸ“š

A difficult truth from Sea Sight Academy & Sea Sight Little Tots πŸ’”
There comes a point where being understanding, patient and kind starts to hurt more than people realise.
As the owner and co-owner of Sea Sight Academy (SSA) and Sea Sight Little Tots (SSLT), we have always tried to treat parents with compassion. We have listened to personal circumstances, made arrangements, allowed extra time and tried to help wherever we possibly could β€” because we understand that life is not always easy.
But sadly, sometimes kindness is mistaken for weakness.
We have experienced parents walking away without settling outstanding accounts, ignoring messages, making promises they don't keep, swearing at us and even threatening us simply because we ask for payment for services already provided.
And then there are threats such as, β€œWe will take our children out.”
Let us make one thing very clear:
No parent is forced to enrol their child at SSA or SSLT.
Parents make the decision freely to bring their children to us. They choose our centre because they believe we can provide a safe environment, education, care and support for their children.
If a parent chooses to leave, that is their choice β€” but leaving does not erase an outstanding account.
What hurts even more is hearing how some people badmouth the very people who have helped them, while still owing money for services already received.
It is easy to talk about someone when you don't know the sacrifices they are making behind closed doors.
It is easy to criticise when you don't see the bills for staff salaries, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, printing, educational materials, maintenance and everything else required to keep SSA and SSLT operating.
The current outstanding amount has now reached:
R1,058,360.43
That is not simply a number on a screen.
That represents months of carrying financial pressure while still trying to ensure that the children are cared for, taught, fed and given what they need.
We have given chances.
We have listened.
We have negotiated.
We have trusted.
We have been patient.
But patience should never be interpreted as permission to take advantage of us.
We will not be bullied by threats of withdrawing learners. We will not be intimidated into feeling guilty for asking people to pay what they owe. And we will not apologise for expecting accountability.
We are willing to understand genuine hardship. We are willing to communicate. We are willing to make reasonable arrangements.
But respect must go both ways.
To those who support us, pay their accounts, communicate honestly and appreciate what we do β€” thank you. You are appreciated more than you know. ❀️
To those who owe us β€” please remember that behind this business are real people who work hard every day to keep the doors open.
We have hearts. We get hurt. We get tired. We struggle too.
We didn't build SSA and SSLT to fight with parents.
We built it to build children.
But in order to continue building their future, the adults responsible must also honour their responsibilities.
Kindness has boundaries.
Understanding has limits.
And accountability cannot be optional.
