Unpopular opinion… a boat licence doesn’t mean you can drive a jetski.

Would you jump on a superbike just because you have a normal car licence?

Probably not.

So why should a PWC be treated any differently?

A jetski reacts differently. It accelerates differently. It turns differently. It stops differently. And when things go wrong, they can go wrong very quickly.

Having a boating qualification may give you useful knowledge, but it does not automatically give you the practical skills and confidence to handle a PWC properly.

That comes from specific training, time on the water and practice.

On the RYA PWC Proficiency Course, you learn the skills that actually matter:

- Slow-speed control
- Safe stopping distances
- Dynamic turns
- Coming alongside
- Reboarding
- Towing
- Kill-cord use
- Practical safety and awareness

Because being able to go fast in a straight line is easy.

Being in control is the skill.

“I believe I can fly!”

Getting it right takes plenty of practice, good thing we provide the wetsuits!

This is also the perfect example of why your kill cord is essential every time you ride a jet ski. Clip in before you take off!
