🚴‍♂️ Meet Denitho Africa! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Denitho Africa, Grade 4, who continues to show us what it means to dream big, work hard, and follow your passion.

Denitho is a proud member of the Overberg BMX Cycling Club in Hermanus. Throughout this year, he has taken part in various cycling competitions and has performed exceptionally well. His dedication, determination, and love for BMX have now earned him the incredible opportunity to compete at the BMX National Competition in Durban, taking place from 2–4 October 2026. 🇿🇦🚴‍♂️

This is a wonderful achievement, Denitho! Well done! Your hard work and commitment have truly paid off, and we are so excited to see you take on this next challenge.

We believe in you, Denitho. Keep chasing your dreams, keep doing what makes you happy, and always remember how proud your Pebbles family is of you.

We told you we'd keep sharing these — here's this Friday's impact story 📣.

At just 20 years old, Portia has already faced more loss than most people experience in a lifetime. She lost her father at six, then her two older sisters, and shortly after finishing high school, her mother too.

With no immediate family nearby, Portia moved to Stellenbosch to live with her aunt on a Pebbles partner farm. Through that connection, she was introduced to the Pebbles Youth Development Programme (YDP) — and a new chapter began.

Portia has always loved hospitality and baking, and dreams of building a career in it. Portia has been gaining hands-on experience through the Pebbles Recycled Soap Project, learning to make soap from recycled hotel products — and now selling it in her own community. 🧼✨

"Pebbles builds people up. When you feel broken and without hope, that is when they step in and help you rebuild. They encourage you not to give up on your purpose and your dreams."

We can't wait to see where Portia's journey takes her next. 💛

🎉 Kicking off our very first ! Every Thursday for the next few weeks, we'll be shining a spotlight on some of the incredible donors and partners who make our work possible.

This week, we're celebrating — proud supporters of the Pebbles Project Maternal Health Initiative for 5 years running, since 2021!

This initiative has supported pregnant women and new mothers from farming communities across the Western Cape — promoting healthy pregnancies, raising awareness around the risks of alcohol use during pregnancy, and providing essential care every step of the way.

Through workshops, education, and support, participants receive everything from antenatal and postnatal care to infant bonding classes, nutrition and mental health support, and a Baby Box packed with essentials once they complete the programme.

In 2025 alone, the initiative supported 41 women, distributed 31 Baby Boxes, and completed 22 post-natal assessments — none of which would be possible without long-term partners like American Elements. 💛

Thank you for believing in mothers and babies from farming communities, and for standing with us for half a decade. Here's to many more years of impact together! 🌱
