Our Assurance in Christ
John 6:37
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. - NKJV
All that My Father gives Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, never reject anyone who follows Me]. – Amplified
Often we are asked how we know we saved. Sometimes we may have an answer, but often our answer is something like “because the Bible tells us so” (remember the song?) But have you ever thought about this question? How do you answer it?
Our answers are all unique, and often the world does not want to hear that we had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus. So how do you answer them then?
The Book of John is a treasure trove of all the reasons why we can believe that Christ is our Saviour. Jesus says a couple of times He is the bread of life. Jesus tells us that He is our Saviour and that He alone is from God.
In today’s verse, Jesus confirms that if God has decided that you are to be saved no matter what direction your life takes, God will make sure that you are saved. It is comforting to know when you are praying for someone, God will save them and direct them to Jesus? And when they come to Jesus, no matter what they did in the past, how bad they think they may have been, Jesus will accept him? It is God’s will that every person shall be saved.
How do we know that?
1 Timothy 2:4 Amplified - Who wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth.
We are God’s creation, and God will never want His creation to perish just because it can. He wants everyone to spend eternity with Him, and to do we need to accept Jesus. That means no one is excluded in the plan of God, and we have a responsibility to tell those who do not know the truth. I challenge you today to share with someone the Good News that Jesus loves them and died for them.
Prayer:
Lord,
We want to thank you that no matter how bad we were in the past, we can know past all doubt that you are our Lord and Saviour and that you will never reject us. Lord, I pray that everyone precious to us or associated with us will be saved. Father, through Your Holy Spirit, help us to bring Your Word in truth to them. I pray that you will bless us all in the precious Name of Jesus!
