𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠!

We’ve had little hands in the soil planting flowers, Spring Day Dress-Up, and plenty more spring fun on the way.

Of course, in true MCS Baby and Toddler Style, 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲!

When little hands squish, scoop, and spread, they're building fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and early math concepts like full and empty...𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭."

𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄:
Let your little one help spread peanut butter (or hummus) on crackers using a dull butter knife. It's low mess, low risk, and gives them the same hand strength and control practice as our make and bake sessions at school.

Just fair warning, those fingers might get a few licks too 😜

Today we celebrate the strength, courage and love of women everywhere, and the incredible women within our school community.

We are incredibly proud of the Mountain Cambridge School community for collecting an outstanding 1,284 Jars of Hope! What an incredible example of kindness, generosity and community spirit in action.

We are equally proud of our Mountain Cambridge Baby and Toddler School community, who came together to donate 45 Jars of Hope to this wonderful initiative.

It is a beautiful reminder that small gestures can make a very big difference. Every jar represents someone choosing to give, to care and to make a difference in the life of another.

Thank you to all our families who contributed and helped us play our small part in this meaningful initiative.

𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃

As Term 2 came to an end, our progress reports made their way home. Looking back at the special morning we handed them out, here's a gentle reminder that stuck with us:

Growth isn't about getting everything right the first time. Just like a Slinky, our children stretch, wobble, bend and bounce their way through challenges, and somehow, they always keep moving forward.

We are so proud of the little people they're becoming and every bit of progress they've made this term.

Stacking, sorting, and balancing blocks builds spatial reasoning, one of the strongest early predictors of future STEM success. Every wobble, every rebuild, every “again!” is your child’s brain making connections.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐀𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃🌍

Our little explorers packed their imaginary suitcases and traveled far and wide as part of our Around the World theme. In Italy, they got hands on with colourful spaghetti sensory play and even made their own pizzas! 🍝🍕 Over in the Netherlands, tiny hands painted and built their very own windmills, learning about Dutch culture through colour and craft. 🇳🇱

There was also plenty of global exploration back at school, with our friends creating their own painted world globes, decorating balloons with the continents, and diving into mixed media art projects using colour, texture and teamwork.
Every activity was designed with a purpose: building fine motor skills, encouraging curiosity about the world, and giving our little ones the chance to explore new cultures through play.

As part of our Around the World theme, they rolled up their sleeves and made their very own pizzas, learning about Italian culture through the tastiest lesson. There was cheese sprinkling, sauce spreading, giggling, and lots of proud little chefs showing off their creations. 🧑‍🍳

It might look like simple fun, but there's real learning happening too! Little hands are building fine motor skills as they knead and sprinkle, following multi step instructions, practicing patience while waiting their turn, and soaking up new vocabulary and culture along the way!

This is what Playing with Purpose looks like. 🌱
