The following courses are on offer for March - July 2015.

1. Principles of Investment for Farmers. Take the “nonsense” out of investing off-farm for passive income. 3 day course.
Safe and sensible investments that you can manage yourself using small amounts of “disposable” income.

Dates:
March: Tuesday 31st March
April: Tuesday 14th April
May: Tuesday 12th May
June: Tuesday 9th June

We use venues in all provinces that will be relatively close to you, depending on where the majority of delegates are situated and the size of the group.

This course will be run in the same week as the farm business and grazing management practicals. The following modules will therefore also be available at the same time:

2. Implementation workshops. Getting management information from the records that you keep for tax purposes, or for the bank manager.
They don’t help you much if they are historical account of what already happened or if they don’t show you where the profit is in your enterprises before the production cycle starts.
The main objective is to make the best decisions based on really good management information, not on a historical tax based interpretation or on wishful thinking.
The grazing management analysis provides you with detailed planning AND monitoring information to maintain the balance between carrying capacity and stocking rate.

You can attend either the Investment course or the planning workshop , or both.

The first Strategic Planning Course for Farmers (replacing the old BusinessLink Course) ran in Harrismith last week.

"COMMERCIAL FARMING IN SOUTH AFRICA 2015-2020"
This course, based on the BusinessLink Course, has a strategic focus, addressing the key performance areas and enabling farmers to plan for the future, alert to the potentials and pitfalls ahead.

When do you want the course? Where and which one?
Thank you to all those who applied for early registration for next years courses.
As a result we are now setting up both a BusinessLink Course and a Grazing for Profit Course in Cradock (EC) early next year and intend to offer the same two courses in Harrismith (Free State).
You can dictate which week suits you, which course and "Harrismith or Cradock"?
The 4 weeks set aside for these 4 courses are 19-23 January, 26-30 January, 2-6 February and 16-20 February. If you give us your preference (dates, course and venue) we will do our best to accommodate you.
EL members will be meeting at Tuff Top Estates, Bloemfontein, from 10th - 12th February. As always we look forward to that meeting.

The heart of our business is the farming families that we work with. We provide a place where farmers and stakeholders in their business can come to get help and support with the management and development of their businesses.
