Term 3 β A Closing Note of Gratitude π
And just like that, Term 3 comes to an end.
As we conclude the term, we would like to end on a positive note and with a heartfelt word of appreciation.
Throughout the day on Tuesday, Hankey experienced ongoing electricity faults, leaving the school without electricity for most of the day. This created a significant challenge, especially with report cards needing to be printed and prepared for the following day.
In the midst of this challenge, Gamtoos Water opened their doors to us and assisted with printing the much-needed reports. As a school, we are sincerely grateful for businesses and community members who are willing to step in and lend a helping hand when it is needed most.
Sometimes, helping does not require much, just an open door, a helping hand, and a willingness to make someone elseβs burden a little lighter.
Today reminded us that the strength of a school is not only found within its walls, but also in the community that stands behind it. When we choose to help one another, we create more than solutions we create hope, strengthen our communities, and remind one another that we are never alone.
This is the true spirit of Ubuntu: βI am because we are.β π€πΎπ
To Gamtoos Water, thank you for standing with Hankey Secondary School when we needed it most. Your kindness made a difference.
Happy Heritage Day, South Africa! πΏπ¦
