Prestige College was established in 1991 and opened its doors in January 1992.
The school gained its independence in 1995 when it formed its own ARTICLE 21 COMPANY NOT FOR GAIN and bought the property from its former owners. Money was secured from sponsors to further develop the school. Since its independence the school has developed remarkably. The Primary school, Technology Centre and two more hostel-houses were built, the Arena was upgraded and enclosed, the entrance gate

A WORLD FIRST FOR A FORMER PRESTIGIAN!
We are incredibly proud of our former Prestigian, Tumi Ramokgopa, who has just made history on the world stage!
Competing at the 2026 World Junior Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, Tumi won Silver in BOTH the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, becoming the first female athlete in history, (junior or senior), to medal in both events at the Championships.
What makes this achievement even more incredible is what Tumi had to overcome. She competed through heats and semi-finals in both events, and her 100m hurdles final took place just ONE HOUR after she had won her 400m hurdles semi-final! Talk about determination!
That never-say-die spirit is something we know well. During her time at Prestige, Tumi won 10 national titles in these events, including becoming a Senior South African Champion at just 17 years old!
And then we saw these words written on the back of her race number:
“Me and God against the world.”
What a beautiful reminder that no matter how far she goes or how big the stage becomes, she carries her faith and the values she grew up with at Prestige.
Tumi, we are SO proud of you!
You have made history, made South Africa proud and, most importantly, reminded us all what is possible when talent, hard work, faith and determination come together.
A huge congratulations to Tumi and Coach George Bradley on this incredible achievement!
