Baie dankie aan Mej. Jean-Marie Heyns wat namens Hoërskool Ben Viljoen ons Top 10 ISR Landloopatlete kom bederf het nadat hul die Dallernaam so hoog gehou het op 22 Augustus 2026 tydens die Willards Interskole-Reeks.

By Hoërskool Ben Viljoen word leerders aangemoedig om aktief betrokke te wees by die skool se verskeie aktiwiteite, kultuur, sport en akademie. Hierdie betrokkenheid word beloon deur middel van ’n spesiale balkiestelsel waar leerders ’n balkie ontvang wanneer hulle 25 positiewe punte of meer in ’n jaar verwerf.

Deur die loop van die jaar kan leerders op verskeie terreine punte opbou om in aanmerking te kom vir hierdie prestasiebalkies, waarvan die kleure verskil volgens die aantal punte wat behaal word. Leerders moet egter ook verantwoordelikheid neem vir hulle optrede, aangesien een positiewe punt verloor word vir elke tien dissiplinêre punte wat ontvang word.

Baie geluk aan Zerelda Taljaardt wat gedurende Augustus gekwalifiseer het vir haar witbalkie deur 25 punte te verwerf vir haar betrokkenheid, deelname en akademiese prestasie. Haar harde werk en toewyding is ’n uitstekende voorbeeld van hoe deelname en positiewe ingesteldheid beloon word.

At Hoërskool Ben Viljoen, learners are encouraged to be actively involved in the school’s various activities, culture, sport, and academics. This involvement is rewarded with a special pin system, in which learners receive a pin once they earn 25 or more positive points during the year.

Throughout the year, learners can earn points in various areas to qualify for these achievement pins, with pin colours varying based on the number of points earned. Learners are also encouraged to take responsibility for their behaviour, as one positive point is deducted for every ten disciplinary points received.

Congratulations to Zerelda Taljaardt, who qualified for her white pin during August. She earned 25 points for her involvement, participation, and academic achievement. Her hard work and dedication are an excellent example of how participation and a positive attitude are rewarded.

At Hoërskool Ben Viljoen, we are committed to fostering happiness and success through active involvement and participation. We celebrate each learner’s achievements and believe that their engagement lays a strong foundation for future accomplishments.

Ons o.15- en o.18-Fast 5-netbalspanne het die afgelope naweek hulle staal gewys tydens die Middies Fast 5-toernooi wat by Hoërskool Middelburg aangebied is.

Dit was ’n naweek vol vinnige netbal, intense wedstryde en waardevolle ervaring vir ons spelers. Ons spanne het met baie energie, deursettingsvermoë en Dallerhart op die baan meegeding en elke wedstryd as ’n geleentheid aangegryp om te groei en te verbeter.

Dallers Fast Flamingoes – o.15
Die Fast Flamingoes het ’n sterk vertoning gelewer en derde in hulle poel geëindig. Hulle het 3 uit hul 5 wedstryde gewen – ’n besonderse prestasie wat hulle vasberadenheid en spanwerk beklemtoon.

Dallers Net Ninjas – o.15
Die Net Ninjas het hard geveg en vierde in hulle poel geëindig. Die span het 2 van hul 6 wedstryde gewen en waardevolle ervaring opgedoen in die vinnige Fast 5-formaat.

Dallers Venom & Vipers – o.18
Ons o.18-span het met vasberadenheid meegeding en vierde in hul poel geëindig. Hulle het 2 uit 6 wedstryde gewen en deurgaans met goeie gees en toewyding gespeel.

Dallers Fire & Ice – o.18
Fire & Ice het ’n uitstekende toernooi beleef en derde in hul poel geëindig nadat hulle 3 uit hul 5 wedstryde gewen het. Hulle het deurgaans gewys waartoe hulle in staat is en met groot selfvertroue meegeding.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op elke speler wat ons met trots verteenwoordig het. Julle harde werk, spanwerk en positiewe ingesteldheid maak ons trots!

Our u/15 and u/18 Fast 5 netball teams showed what they are made of this past weekend at the Middies Fast 5 Tournament, hosted by Hoërskool Middelburg.

It was a weekend filled with fast-paced netball, intense matches and valuable experience for our players. Our teams competed on court with great energy, determination and Daller spirit, embracing every match as an opportunity to grow and improve.

Dallers Fast Flamingoes – u/15
The Fast Flamingoes delivered a strong performance, finishing third in their pool. They won 3 of their 5 matches – an impressive achievement that highlights their determination and teamwork.

Dallers Net Ninjas – u/15
The Net Ninjas fought hard and finished fourth in their pool. The team won 2 of their 6 matches and gained valuable experience in the fast-paced Fast 5 format.

Dallers Venom & Vipers – u/18
Our u/18 team competed with determination and finished fourth in their pool. They won 2 of their 6 matches and played throughout the tournament with great spirit and dedication.

Dallers Fire & Ice – u/18
Fire & Ice enjoyed an excellent tournament, finishing third in their pool after winning 3 of their 5 matches. They consistently demonstrated what they are capable of and competed with great confidence.

We are incredibly proud of every player who represented Hoërskool Ben Viljoen with pride. Your hard work, teamwork and positive attitude make us proud!

Die afgelope naweek het ons o.15- en o.17-sewesrugbyspanne hulle staal gewys tydens die Forge 7’s Toernooi wat by Hoërskool Ben Vorster aangebied is. Die o.15-afdeling het op Vrydag, 28 Augustus, plaasgevind, terwyl die o.17-spanne op Saterdag, 29 Augustus, in aksie was.

Ons o.15-span het die toernooi met groot selfvertroue afgeskop en in hulle eerste poelwedstryd ’n indrukwekkende 66–00-oorwinning teen Waterberg Akademie behaal.

In die tweede poelwedstryd het die span vasgeval in ’n uiters spannende wedstryd teen Hoërskool Piet Potgieter en met 24–26 die knie gebuig. Die Dallers het egter onmiddellik teruggeveg en in hulle derde poelwedstryd met ’n uitstekende 43–5-oorwinning teen Hoërskool Frans du Toit vorendag gekom.

In die Bowl-semifinaal het ons seuns dit ongelukkig nie reggekry om die tuisskool, Hoërskool Ben Vorster, te oorwin nie en met 07–31 verloor.

Die span het egter karakter getoon en dié toernooi op ’n hoë noot afgesluit. In die uitspeelwedstryd om 7de en 8ste plek het ons Dallers met 26–22 teen Merensky Landbou Akademie van Tzaneen geseëvier.

Die o.15-span sluit die toernooi dus af met ’n algehele 7de plek – ’n prestasie waarop ons baie trots is!

Ons o.17-sewesrugbyspan het hulle toernooi én seisoen op ’n besonderse wyse afgeskop en met ’n algehele derde plek geëindig.

Ons Dallers het in hulle eerste poelwedstryd onmiddellik hulle teenwoordigheid laat geld met ’n indrukwekkende 31–00-oorwinning oor Hoërskool Eric Louw.

Hulle het daarna die momentum voortgesit en Curro Heuwelkruin met 39–00 verslaan. In hul laaste poelwedstryd het dié span Hoërskool Louis Trichardt met 24–10 kafgedraf en sodoende hulle plek in die Bekerafdeling se uitspeelrondtes verseker.

In die Beker semi-finaal het ons ongelukkig met 07–32 teen Hoërskool Pietersburg verloor. Die span het egter nie moed opgegee nie en hierdie toernooi met ’n uitstekende vertoning in die Bronsfinaal afgesluit.

Daar het hulle met 19–10 teen Hoërskool Hans Strijdom geseëvier om ’n welverdiende bronsmedalje en algehele derde plek te beklink!

Ons is ongelooflik trots op beide ons o.15- en o.17-sewesrugbyspanne. Hulle het die afgelope naweek gewys wat gebeur wanneer talent, harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en Dallerhart saamkom.

Baie geluk aan al ons spelers met hulle uitstekende vertonings en prestasies. Julle het Hoërskool Ben Viljoen se naam met trots verteenwoordig!

This past weekend, our u/15 and u/17 sevens rugby teams showed their strength at the Forge 7’s Tournament, hosted by Hoërskool Ben Vorster. The u/15 division took place on Friday, 28 August, while the u/17 teams were in action on Saturday, 29 August.

Our u/15 team started the tournament with great confidence, securing an impressive 66–00 victory over Waterberg Akademie in their first pool match.

In their second pool match, the team faced a highly competitive encounter against Hoërskool Piet Potgieter and unfortunately lost 24–26. The Dallers bounced back immediately, however, producing an excellent 43–5 victory over Hoërskool Frans du Toit in their third pool match.

In the Bowl semi-final, our boys unfortunately could not overcome the hosts, Hoërskool Ben Vorster, losing 07–31.

The team showed great character and finished the tournament on a high note. In the playoff for 7th and 8th place, our Dallers secured a hard-fought 26–22 victory over Merensky Landbou Akademie from Tzaneen.

The u/15 team therefore finished the tournament in an impressive overall seventh place – an achievement of which we are extremely proud!

Our u/17 sevens rugby team started both their tournament and their season in outstanding fashion, finishing in an excellent overall third place.

Our Dallers immediately made their presence felt in their first pool match with an impressive 31–00 victory over Hoërskool Eric Louw.

They continued their momentum by defeating Curro Heuwelkruin 39–00. In their final pool match, the team defeated Hoërskool Louis Trichardt 24–10, securing their place in the Cup Division playoffs.

In the Cup semi-final, we unfortunately went down 07–32 against Hoërskool Pietersburg. The team refused to give up and finished the tournament with an excellent performance in the Bronze Final.

There, they secured a well-deserved 19–10 victory over Hoërskool Hans Strijdom to claim the bronze medal and an overall third-place finish!

We are incredibly proud of both our u/15 and u/17 sevens rugby teams. Over the past weekend, they showed what can be achieved when talent, hard work, perseverance and Daller spirit come together.

Congratulations to all our players on their excellent performances and achievements. You represented the name of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen with great pride!
