Our Grade 5s explored the world of 3D shapes using Geogenius construction kits. They built cubes, prisms, pyramids, and more — discovering edges, faces, and vertices hands‑on.

Through teamwork and creativity, they didn’t just see geometry… they constructed it! 📐✨

So proud of how they connected classroom concepts to real‑life building. Math really is everywhere when you look closely! 🧩💡

⚽🌟 What a fantastic day at the Eston Soccer Festival and Show! 🌟⚽

Our u9/10 girls took to the field with plenty of energy and enthusiasm, playing an incredible five fixtures! They finished the day with two wins and three draws.

Wembley u11 girls, despite the scorching heat, showed great determination, energy and commitment throughout the day. The team played five matches, securing two wins and three losses. Most importantly, the girls kept their spirits high and continued to support and encourage one another in every game.

Well done, girls! Not only did they enjoy some exciting soccer, but they also had lots of fun walking around and exploring the Eston Show. A brilliant day filled with soccer, smiles and fun! ⚽🎉

Have you bought your DUCK?

Minnie, "our man from Muden," helped us decorate Dumi our Wembley Duck mascot.

Each year we celebrate the founders of Wembley College by hosting a weekend filled with memorable events. This year we are 29 years old. Our celebrations begin on Friday, 4 September, with the Founders Day Assembly and Tree Planting for long-service scholars. The Duck Drop flyover opens the events on Saturday at 8 am, followed by the class go-kart races. The World Cup Market stalls open in the morning at 10 am. The talented, vibey South African band Droomsindroom performs in the Aloe Hall on Saturday night, 5 September. Doors open at 6 pm. Our very own homegrown school band is the opening act of the night.

Please contact the Wembley reception to purchase your Duck Derby tickets. Your ticket enters you into the Duck Drop. Your duck will be dropped from a plane on Saturday morning. The duck that lands closest to the target wins R5000 (Duck 1). The second closest duck to the target wins R2000 (Duck 2), and the duck furthest from the target wins R1000 (Duck 3). There are prizes for ducks 4, 5, and 6. A weekend at the Cavern (Duck 4), a two-day stay at Fordoun (Duck 5), and a two-day stay at Lavender Trout (Duck 6).

Wembley College was built in 1997 by Brian Corbishley and his wife Dorothy. This weekend we give thanks to the Corbishley family and to the pioneers of our school who forged the way forward and had the vision to create an international, private school in Greytown.

The weekend is a time for our school to raise valuable funds to assist us with our scholarship fund. Your tickets are assisting our scholarship programme which in turn creates growth in the school. The Wembley u15 rugby team took to the field in their 7's Rugby Festival at home, on Friday, 28 August 2026, determined to make their home supporters proud.

Wembley were in Pool D and started the day with impressive wins against Linpark and Curro Salt Rock before going down to a clinical Michaelhouse B team.

These results led to Wembley playing in the Bowl section semifinal against Alexandra High which Wembley duly won after an impressive team performance.

Wembley were then through to the final against a determined Weston team. After a titanic struggle, the match ended in a draw (14-14). Three minutes of extra time was added to determine a winner with the first team to score winning the match. From the extra time kick off, the exhausted Wembley boys dug deep and immediately put Weston under pressure with some hard running and tackling. An error from Weston allowed Wembley to pick up a loose ball and run through to score the match winning try and win the Bowl Section.

🥑 Junior Avo Farmers in the Making! 🥑

On an overcast morning, our excited Grade RR and R children climbed aboard the Wembley buses and headed off for an adventure in avo farming!

At 3 Orchards Farm, Uncle Andy and Uncle Duncs welcomed us and shared fascinating insights into how avocados are grown, cared for and harvested. Then it was time to climb aboard the tractor and head out into the orchards! 🚜

After a careful demonstration on how to pick the perfect avo, our little farmers got to work. The crates were filled in no time as the children worked with great enthusiasm — especially with the promise of a delicious donut waiting for them! 🍩🥑

We ended a wonderful day with donuts and juice before heading home as qualified Junior Avo Farmers!

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at 3 Orchards Farm for welcoming us and giving our children such a fun, hands-on learning experience. We loved every minute of avo farming!🥑

Esther Perel asked a powerful question, "When you were growing up... did you play freely in the streets? And now... do your children?" Unscripted play taught us to negotiate, take risks, make mistakes, and trust ourselves. When childhood becomes overly controlled and adult-directed, children lose more than play — they lose the chance to build resilience, creativity and confidence.

As Esther puts it, "Chance is an essential piece of life."
That's exactly what we offer through Psychomotor (PPA) at Wembley. Our children build, jump, negotiate, communicate, play freely, a space for healthy risk taking, real problem-solving, and the trust that lets them discover how capable they truly are.

FLASHBACKFRIDAY!!!

"We have fond memories of our time at Wembley, and every so often we are reminded of just how special those years were. For many of us, Wembley remains, and I think always will, a very special place. A number of our classmates have remained in contact over the years and, to this day, we remain great friends —friendships that were forged in the classroom and on the sports fields. For those of us who were fortunate enough to be there from the very beginning, becoming founding members of the school, made those memories all the more special. We attended the initial interest days, where Mr Corbisbley inspired everyone who was fortunate enough to be there. Once we had become part of the school, we watched as it slowly took shape around us. We walked across the first sports' fields, picking up stones so that the ground could be cleared and smoothed, helping to prepare the fields for sport. In time, we were able to play hockey on the field that I believe is now beneath the AstroTurf. The late Mr Martens had somehow managed to grow grass that looked more like a putting green, and the ball would glide and bounce across it so smoothly. We would host visiting hockey teams with great pride, knowing that we could boast one of the best hockey fields in the area. We remember watching, often with great amusement, as cars became hopelessly stuck in the parking lot on rainy days, while quietly hoping that our own parents would somehow make it up the hill without spinning their wheels!Our Grade 11 prize-giving ceremony was held in what was then the nearly completed school hall— the very same hall we had watched taking shape day after day from the windows of our biology classroom. These memories, and so many others, are a wonderful reminder of just how special those early years at Wembley were, and of the friendships, experiences and sense of community that have stayed with us ever since. I myself am so grateful to have been part of the school (and particularly the class of 2006) and wish Wembley all the best as you continue to grow a beautiful community."
