Greytown Secondary School Celebrates Outstanding Achievements

Greytown Secondary School is beaming with pride after achieving an impressive 98.1% pass rate in the 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations. Out of the 208 learners who sat for the exams, a remarkable 204 passed, with 120 Bachelor passes and 62 Diploma passes, reflecting the hard work and dedication of both students and educators.
Topping the list of achievers is Phelelisile Mkhize, who earned six distinctions and
emerged as the school’s shining star. Sbongenkosini Madlala and Siphowokuhle Qoma also perfomed admirably with Sbongenkosini earning 5 distinctions and Siphowokuhle earning 4 distinctions respectively. These exceptional performances have set a high benchmark for future learners, serving as an inspiration to all. Phelelisile attributes her results to extra classes, detailed notes, and asking for help when she needed it. She was committed to doing her best and learning from her mistakes. She is grateful for her educators and credits them with her success.
The school emphasized a collaborative approach, with teachers going the extra mile by conducting additional lessons, providing study materials, and offering continuous motivation. Learners, in turn, took their responsibilities seriously, putting in countless hours of study and revision. The community has also played a significant role in encouraging the learners, creating a supportive environment that contributed to their success.
The journey to success was not without its challenges, but through unwavering determination, the learners and educators made their mark. The principal of Greytown Secondary School commended the learners for their perseverance and the staff for their tireless efforts in preparing the students.
With such stellar results, Greytown Secondary School continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence, motivating future generations to aim even higher. This year’s success story is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and unity.

GREYTOWN SECONDARY SCHOOL

Greytown Secondary School is proud of their matrics, completing the year and performing well in the National Senior Certificate obtaining a 89% pass rate.

Of the 173 learners who sat for the examination, Bachelors 77, Diplomas 68 and 9 Higher Certificate passes.

It was a proud moment for Greytown Secondary at the Umvoti Mayoral Matric Top Achievers awards when Siqineseko Mkhize obtained 1st position in the Umvoti CMC.
Sinqineseko obtained 5 distinctions and achieved 98 % in Mathematics.
He achieved an aggregate of 86% and will be studying Actuarial Science at UCT.
We at GSS want to wish our learners everything of the best in their future endeavors

As you embark on your final exams.....
Visualise your dreams and be willing to put in time, energy and sacrifices to realise your goals. Do not be distracted by unwanted interferences from focusing on the important task of studying to become successful in life.
Remember, that hard work and sheer determination will unlock the doors of success for you. Today you are students; tomorrow you will become employees and employers. You have to bring your principles into your life, no matter who you will be in the future and what your life will be like.
You must remain focused throughout your exams, be confident in your ability, concentrate intensely on your books, and make us all proud. Your parents, families and Greytown Secondary care and support you. We are standing by you as you prepare to acquire the most important certificate of your lives.
