[IN PICTURES] BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
The Executive Mayor of Makana Local Municipality celebrated her birthday with learners of Fikizolo Primary School on Monday, 19 January 2026.

The annual initiative is meant to assist learners who can not afford some of the basic necessities for school. Learners received things like school shoes, sanitary pads, and toiletries to start the year with confidence. Makana Municipality would also like to thank Lutifusion (organisers of Makana Music Festival - Makhanda) for their continued support of the initiative as well as the learners over the years. We would also like to extend a word of gratitude to the Unlimited Incubator for supporting this important initiative.

We would also like to thank Fikizolo Primary School for the warm welcome and helping to make the venue beautiful.

This initiative demonstrates what's possible when we work together. No municipal funding was used to make this initiative happen. All of these beautiful gifts came about through collaboration with the above-mentioned stakeholders.
