“Women are the real architects of society.”
Harriet Beecher Stowe
On Women’s Day, we honour the women who shape St Andrew’s College and the lives of our boys. As mothers, educators, mentors, colleagues and friends, they help build character, inspire excellence and instil values that endure long after a boy leaves our gates. Their wisdom, care, strength and unwavering commitment play a vital role in forming the good men our society needs. This month, we celebrate their contribution and thank them for the profound influence they have on our College community and on generations of Andreans.
Happy Women’s Day.

LEGENDS LIVE | A NIGHT WITH THE GREATS
What an unforgettable evening at our much-anticipated Legends Live event, a true highlight on the Prep calendar. Our talented choir led the way, while eloquent narrators guided the audience through a musical journey celebrating some of the world's greatest legends. The evening opened with a lively performance of Mamma Mia on piano and drums, instantly setting the tone and having the audience humming along.
Adding to the magic, our gifted guitarists and string players accompanied several performances with remarkable poise, bringing warmth, depth, and an authentic concert atmosphere to the evening.
The performances were spectacular. From exceptional singing and energetic dancing to the iconic Moonwalk during Beat It, the audience was captivated throughout. The King himself even made an appearance as Elvis Presley, brilliantly portrayed by one of our staff members, with fellow staff joining in for a lively rendition of Hound Dog.
The programme also celebrated the music of Johnny Clegg, a heartfelt performance of We Are the World, an electrifying Queen medley, and a crowd-pleasing finale featuring beloved ABBA classics.
A special highlight was the art auction showcasing original works created by our boys. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our parents and families, valuable funds were raised for Home of Joy, reflecting our community's spirit of compassion and giving.
With Memory Hall filled to capacity, parents, families, staff, and learners sang along, clapped, and danced, creating an electric atmosphere. Legends Live was more than a concert, it was a celebration of music, confidence, creativity, and the strong sense of community that makes our Prep so special.
A heartfelt congratulations to every learner, staff member, and parent who helped make the evening such a memorable success.
"Thank you for the music, for giving it to me."

GRADE 1 BOOK CLUB FUN
Our Grade 1s celebrated how far their reading has come this year! Each pupil brought their favourite book, read a short piece aloud, and shared what it was about. The Grade R's even joined in to see what's in store for them next year.
We topped it off with a fun round of Pass the Parcel Charades. So much fun watching these little readers shine!

GRADE 3 OUTDOOR ED: CUTRUS FARMING
The Grade 3 pupils had a fantastic time visiting Whyte’s citrus farm in Kirkwood, where they discovered the full journey citrus fruit takes before reaching our shelves. They got to see the orchards, where they learned how the trees are cared for and sprayed with fertiliser, followed by an introduction on the picking process.
The children visited the pack house to see the sorting process in action. They watched as the citrus was offloaded, sorted, cleaned and sorted again to ensure each piece was placed into the correct category for packing. Fascinatingly, some of the fruit they saw was destined for the harbour, ready to be exported to countries like the UK and Canada.
It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience for the Grade 3s, giving them real insight into the journey from farm to shop.
