U13A TENNIS

Our U13A tennis boys made a fantastic return to the court against Kingswood, showcasing some excellent tennis across both the singles and doubles matches.

The boys demonstrated great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout, securing a well deserved victory.

U12 CRICKET TOUR TO KNYSNA

What a fantastic week of cricket, competition and team spirit for our U12 boys on tour in Knysna!

The boys opened the tour in impressive fashion, securing a convincing 72 run victory over Durbanville U13B. Zach was outstanding, scoring a superb 75 before returning with the ball to claim 3/10.

Friday brought mixed fortunes. Prep produced a disciplined performance against Courtrai U13A, restricting their opponents to 79 runs before chasing down the target with seven wickets in hand. Zach (33) and Anthony (17) led the way with the bat. Later that day, Welgemoed U13A claimed a 10 wicket victory.

In their final fixture, Prep delivered an excellent bowling performance against Somerset House U13A, bowling them out for 110. JA and Zach were the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets apiece. In reply, Adam (23) and Max (21*) led a determined fightback, with Prep eventually falling just 13 runs short in a thrilling finish.

It was a tour filled with resilience, teamwork, competitive cricket and plenty of memorable moments. New friendships were made, old friendships strengthened and, most importantly, the boys had an absolute ball. Well done, boys!

SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

A huge congratulations to Sophie, who competed at the 2026 South African National Gymnastics Championships.

Sophie scored 9.5 in the first round and 7.5 in the second round, finishing 6th overall out of 13 gymnasts in her age category.

Sophie also achieved a fantastic silver medal podium finish in the Double Mini Trampoline, earning her District Colours for her age category.

A wonderful achievement at National level. Well done, Sophie!

MINI ATHLETICS MAGIC AT ST ANDREW'S PRE-PRIMARY!

Our littlest Preppies brought high energy and unstoppable pride to the field for their very own Mini Athletics Day! Rain or shine, the excitement was contagious as the children zoomed through a playful lineup of events—including the motorbike race, hula-hoop challenge, bean bag balance, and the classic egg-and-spoon race.
The highlight of the day was, as always, the parent race! This year, we put our parents’ poise to the test with a hilarious and competitive bean bag balance race of their own. A huge thank you to all the families who joined us and made this special day so memorable for our precious children.

WHAT A HERITAGE DAY!
Our JP learners travelled around the world today, creating their own passports and learning about some very cool countries, including our own beautiful South Africa. ✈️
Then it was time for our Olympics fun! From bokdrol spoeg competitions to wheelbarrow races and so much more, there were laughs all round. 🏅😂

OLD PREP SUPPER | A NIGHT OF MEMORIES AND TRADITION

On Friday evening, 18 September, Prep welcomed back our Old Preppies for one of the school’s much-loved traditions, the Old Prep Supper.

The evening brings together the current Matriculants who attended Prep, both girls and boys, for a special dinner celebrating the years they spent here and the memories, friendships and experiences that have helped shape their school journeys.

Mr Rob B**r, Chairman of the Old Prep Association, officially welcomed the Matriculants as the newest members of the OPA. It was a wonderful reminder that although their Prep days may be behind them, they will always remain part of the Prep family.

There was plenty of laughter and reminiscing as old memories were shared, followed by a delicious dinner and, of course, the traditional singing of the Prep Song, “I’ll Sing You One ’Oh”. The evening ended with what has become one of the most eagerly anticipated parts of the supper, the legendary Monkey Dorm Races in Griffin Dorm! The laughter and competitive spirit were as entertaining as ever.

It was a memorable evening filled with friendship, nostalgia and the traditions that make Prep so special. We wish our Old Preppies every success for the next chapter of their journeys and look forward to welcoming them back to Prep for many years to come.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF PIPERS

Prep was delighted to welcome the College Pipe Band to perform for our Grade 4–7 boys. The sound of the pipes and drums filled the air, and the boys were captivated from start to finish.

Their performance was both impressive and inspirational, giving our boys a wonderful opportunity to see what can be achieved through dedication, practice and a passion for music.

We have multiple Prep boys currently learning the chanter and drums, so watching College musicians perform at such a high level was a fantastic motivational experience. It gave our young pipers and drummers a glimpse of what they could achieve as they continue their musical journey beyond Prep.

It was a wonderful morning of music, inspiration and aspiration and perhaps a glimpse of the next generation of College pipers and drummers in the making.

A huge thank you to the College Pipe Band for inspiring our young musicians and showing them just how far their musical journey can take them.
