Well done to our General Knowledge Quiz grade winners for Term 2!
Each grade had its own winner, with some grades having joint winners. These learners showed great knowledge, quick thinking and enthusiasm throughout the quiz.

Congratulations to all our winners! You have made us proud. 👏

A big well done to our Grade 7 learners Zimi Boma, Lunje Kweta and Emihle Lusizi, who represented our school at the Sarah Baartman District EMS Spelling Bee.

Beyond their spelling skills, they stood out for their confidence, good manners and respectful conduct throughout the day. It was wonderful to see them carry themselves with such maturity and represent our school so well.

Well done, Zimi, Lunje and Emihle! We are so proud of you!

On Wednesday, 12 August, our learners took part in the Sarah Baartman District NS Olympiad and Grade 6 Astro Quiz at Samuel Ntsiko.

We are incredibly proud of Kungawo Level, who placed 3rd in the Grade 4 NS Olympiad, and Solulele Ndesi, who placed 2nd in the Grade 5 NS Olympiad. They will proudly represent the district at the Provincial Olympiads in East London.

Our four Grade 6 learners also came so close to winning the Astro Quiz, making us incredibly proud of their effort, teamwork and determination.

Well done to all our learners! You have made your school proud. Keep shining!🤩

On Friday, 7 August, Oatlands Prep hosted its annual Inter-House Touch Rugby and Netball Day.

Our learners came out in full force, proudly supporting their houses and creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. We were treated to some highly entertaining and competitive matches, with excellent sportsmanship and house spirit on display.

Well done to every learner who participated, and a sincere thank you to all the staff members whose hard work and dedication made the day such a great success.

The final house standings were:
1st: Newby (176 points)
2nd: Lloyd (139 points)
3rd: Walwyn (136 points)
4th: Baines (107 points)

Congratulations to Newby on being crowned this year's Inter-House champions!

The staff, however, earned the ultimate bragging rights. They defeated the Grade 7 learners in the Touch Rugby match before finishing the day with another victory over the Grade 7s in the Netball match. Well done to all the staff for showing the learners that experience still counts!

It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and wonderful memories. We are certain there were a few stiff and sore bodies after Friday's matches, but they were all worth it for such an enjoyable day!

We are incredibly proud of our learners' outstanding achievements at the Eskom Expo Regional Round. Out of our 13 projects, 12 received awards.

In addition, Jordan Jordaan and Aphelele Sonanzi received the Royal Society of Chemistry Best Intermediate Project Award, recognising excellence in Chemical Sciences.
Although one project did not receive an award, we are equally proud of those learners for their hard work, resilience and commitment throughout this journey.

A sincere thank you to all our parents for your unwavering encouragement, support and partnership throughout the Expo process. Your involvement played an important role in our learners' success.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mrs Jabavu for coordinating our mentors and to Mrs Gxasheka for assisting with printing. Your generosity and willingness to help are deeply appreciated.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Sphumelele Mngomezulu, Minqweno Ludidi (Pharmacy students at Rhodes University), and Lisakhaya Zabo (Computer Science student at Rhodes University) for generously mentoring our learners and assisting throughout the Expo journey.
