Developing youth through creative opportunity. Upstart is a local youth development and empowerment project based in Grahamstown.
It provides opportunities for high school learners with limited access to resources to participate in a variety of programmes and activities. Since its pilot project in 2008-2009, Upstart has expanded rapidly as it has sought to respond to low literacy levels among learners. Upstart was one of the community partners that attended the ECP training (Engaged Citizen program) to recruit new student volunteers to work with us, our Upstarters got to be part of this experience as they were also there and telling student volunteers about the work we do and our purpose, this was very interesting to watch.
Thank you to everyone that has signed up to work with us, let's make a memorable year ❤️

Tjooo it has been a while but I hope you all entered this year in full gear and are ready to unfold it.
Upstart is happy to announce that we'll be resuming with our programmes on the 15th of February, bringing you nothing but the best of shows and also welcoming new members that will belong another exciting programme that we'll announce soon. We are excited to start off this year with a bang 💪💪
