It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic loss of two precious lives following a devastating fire.

Among those who sadly passed away was a Grade R learner at Grahamstown Primary School as well as her sister, who was a learner at St Mary’s RC Primary School.

A third child, who is a learner at Grahamstown Primary School, sustained burn injuries in the tragic incident and has been hospitalised. We pray for his healing and recovery during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the children’s family, loved ones, classmates, teachers and the entire school communities as they face this heartbreaking loss.

During this time of unimaginable grief, we ask God to surround the family with His comfort, strength and peace.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18

May the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in eternal peace.
