Enactus is a global network of passionate and socially aware students and business leaders. Enactus Rhodes University is made up of Rhodes University students.
We enable progress though entrepreneurial action, using business innovation for sustainable solutions. Together we apply our skills, passions and ideas to positively impact as many lives as possible. We don’t give handouts to people in need but rather we are here to work side-by-side to create opportunity. This is so every community we work with is empowered to live up to their full potential.

Are you passionate about social impact? Do you have an idea that can bring about change and sustainable development in your local community, will a chance to upscale regionally, provincially, or even at a national level?
Ford, through the Ford College Community Challenge, run in countries such as Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Mexico, Morrocco, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, and South Africa is looking to fund your idea with $US5, 000.
Create an innovative approach to “Building Sustainable Communities, Changing the
Way People Move through Smart Mobility or Driving Social Mobility"
Potential areas of focus could include (but are not limited to):
▪ Changing the Way People Move through Smart Mobility:
How can we design and implement affordable, clean, and safe transportation
systems for the 21st Century? How can we make lives better by the way we
move?
Driving Social Mobility: What is a tool or project that can be developed for
individuals, households or people to move within the layers of social strata?
Education and Training: In an increasingly global economy, human capital is
perhaps the most important ingredient to a community’s ability to survive and
thrive.
Safety: What do we mean when we refer to “safe communities”? How has
this definition changed with the advent of the internet and other technologies?
▪ Economic Development: poverty alleviation through job creation and access
and entry into the job market.
-Student volunteer programs that partner with a local non-profit to address a
community need.
