Look closely at a walnut and you’ll notice its uncanny resemblance to the human brain - complete with two halves and those familiar folds.

Here's the truth: apples naturally brown as they're exposed to air and during drying. It's a completely normal process - and a good sign that the fruit hasn't been treated to preserve its colour.⁠
Many commercial dried apples are treated with sulphur dioxide (E220), a sulphite preservative that helps keep them looking pale for longer.⁠
At By Nature, we don't use sulphites. That's why our dried apples develop their own beautiful golden-brown colour - just as nature intended.⁠

So next time you see a little browning, don't mistake it for poor quality. It's often a sign of fruit that's been dried naturally, without unnecessary preservatives.⁠
