Not sure if Gordon’s Bay is right for your current dive level?

Let’s make it easy...

If you are newly qualified or feeling a bit rusty, we have shallow, protected sites and the option to start in our heated indoor pool so you can rebuild confidence before you jump off the boat.

If you are more experienced, there are deeper reefs, kelp forests, walls and gullies that keep things interesting without feeling chaotic or rushed.

Macro lover or underwater photographer? Our local reefs are full of colour and tiny details, with nudibranchs, sea fans, soft corals and plenty of small life. Plus, our boat is camera friendly and our guides are used to spotting critters for you.

Whether you live in Cape Town or you are visiting from overseas, Gordon’s Bay is a perfect add on to your trip if you want relaxed, scenic boat dives and reefs you can come back to again and again.

👉 Not sure where you fit or what you should book?

Send us a DM with your certification level, the type of dives you'd like to do, and when you will be in Cape Town, and we will recommend the best sites or course for you.

Some dives are “nice”.
Outer Percy’s is unforgettable.

Just before Rooi Els, along those steep cliffs, you drop into a kelp-filled world of boulders, walls and colour. Shallow, you get swaying kelp, bright sponges and soft growth. A little deeper you hit dramatic rock walls, noble corals and sea fans that look like an underwater forest.

Outer Percy’s is one of those sites where you can do the same route again and again and still spot something new.

Nudibranchs in every colour, feather stars, tiny details on every rock, plus all the usual reef locals like galjoen, red roman and fingerfins.

And then there are the “wow” days, when sevengill cowsharks, smooth hound sharks, puffadder shysharks, red steenbras or playful seals decide to cruise through.

It is a favourite with kelp forest lovers, macro and reef photographers, and Cape Town locals or visitors who want a scenic coastal boat ride plus a colourful, relaxed dive.

Planning a trip or already based in Cape Town and want to add this to your list?

👉 Save this post for later and send us a DM with “OUTER PERCYS”. We will let you know when we are heading back to Rooi Els and help you grab a spot on the boat.

We've had some great dives over the past week, including dives in Rooi Els, Sterretjies and outer Pinnacle. So much life on the reefs at the moment - including leopard and pyjama catsharks and gully sharks at Sterretjies yesterday. For the macro lovers, there are loads of amazing nudibranchs everywhere. Looking forward to our early morning Christmas Day launch tomorrow. We'll be launching throughout the festive season - come join us!
