We're proud to introduce the GTC Foundation Reading Programme – a comprehensive Grade R programme designed to build confident, capable and independent readers.
Did you know that the PIRLS 2021 study found that 81% of South African Grade 4 learners cannot read for meaning? In other words, many children can recognise words but struggle to understand what they have read. Strong literacy skills begin in the Foundation Phase, and early intervention makes a lasting difference.
At Gonubie Tutor Centre, we believe that reading is about understanding, not simply reading words aloud. Our programme has been carefully developed to strengthen every essential literacy skill while building a genuine love of reading.
