The Bear Cubs have been learning about water and discovering some of the important ways we use it. They learned that water is clear and that we need to keep our rivers and dams clean so that people, plants and animals can stay healthy. The Bear Cubs also learned that plants, insects and animals all need water to survive. They really enjoyed exploring and taking part in their water activity outside in the warm sunshine after the cold front. It was a lovely opportunity for them to learn, explore and enjoy the outdoors while developing an understanding of why water is so important

πŸ“±βœ¨ Little Digital Explorers! βœ¨πŸ“±

Over the past few weeks, Grade 000 has had lots of fun exploring iPads and discovering some of the exciting apps available to us! Before we began, we learnt how to use the iPads safely and responsibly, including how to hold them carefully, look after the devices, and use them appropriately. Once we knew our iPad safety rules, the children had the opportunity to explore and play with different apps, tapping, swiping, creating, and discovering what each app could do. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, confidence, and excitement as they began developing their early digital literacy skills through play and exploration! πŸŒŸπŸ’»

🌱🌸 Growing, exploring & discovering in Chipmunks!

Our little Chipmunks became scientists, explorers, and creators! πŸ§‘β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬πŸ”βœ¨
We discovered how plants grow and explored what they need to thrive: sunlight β˜€οΈ, water πŸ’§, air 🌬️ and healthy soil 🌱
Our Experimentation Station was full of curiosity as we investigated our bean experiment and explored how we can make dirty water clean using different filters πŸ’¦
We also brought maths into our investigations with one-to-one counting using beans and got creative with playdough, making our very own beautiful flowers πŸŒΈπŸŽ¨πŸ‘πŸΌ
What a wonderful week of hands-on learning, curious minds, messy experiments, and lots of creativity! πŸŒ±πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ”πŸŒˆ

Soil & Pollination:
Our children explored the wonderful world of soil, plants and pollination. They learned that plants are living things that need soil, water, sunlight and air to grow. The children had opportunities to explore soil and learn about how plants grow from tiny seeds. They also discovered the important role that bees and other insects play in helping flowers through pollination.

Through hands-on experiences, the children were encouraged to observe, touch, count, sort and talk about what they discovered. These experiences helped them develop an appreciation for nature and understand that living things depend on one another.

Maths was explored through natural materials and hands-on activities.
The children practised counting objects from 1–10, using seeds and other natural materials. They were encouraged to count carefully and recognise the numbers they were working with. The children also took part in a sorting activity, sorting natural objects according to different characteristics such as size.

Bee Pollination Experiment:
The children took part in a fun and simple bee pollination experiment to help them understand how pollen can move from one flower to another. Crushed chips represented pollen. The children were able to touch and explore the β€œpollen” and observed how it transferred onto their fingers and spread to other areas.

Grade 0 Giraffe Class gets creative with Biomes! This week, our Grade 0 Giraffe Class had an exciting time exploring different biomes by creating their very own biome models inside empty shoeboxes!

A biome is a large natural environment where plants, animals, and weather conditions work together to create a unique habitat. The children chose a biome that interested them and transformed ordinary shoeboxes into incredible miniature worlds. Some of the biomes represented included the Grasslands, Marine Biome, Rainforest, Arctic Tundra, and Desert.

From colourful ocean creatures and lush rainforest trees to sandy deserts and icy tundras, each project reflected the children's imagination, understanding, and hard work. It was wonderful to see how they used a variety of materials to bring their chosen biomes to life.

Creative activities like these are so important in early childhood education. Creativity encourages children to think independently, solve problems, express their ideas, and build confidence in their abilities. By giving children the freedom to create, we nurture curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning.

Trinityhouse Glenvista Pre-Primary Grandparents' Day Teddy Bears Picnic.

What a special morning we shared celebrating the precious bond between grandparents and grandchildren at our Teddy Bears Picnic!

The children enjoyed spending quality time with their grandparents as they decorated beautiful Memory Bears and hand-crafted clay hearts together. These treasured keepsakes will serve as a reminder of the love, laughter, and memories shared for years to come. It was a joy to see generations connecting, sharing stories, and making memories together.

Thank you to all our grandparents for joining us and making the day so memorable. Your presence, wisdom, and love mean the world to our children.
