πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ Youth Day 2026 | Fulton School for the Deaf

Today, we honour the brave young people of 16 June 1976 whose courage and determination helped shape the South Africa we know today.

As we commemorate Youth Day, we remember that every young person has the power to inspire change, break barriers, and build a brighter future. At Fulton School for the Deaf, we celebrate the resilience, talent, leadership, and achievements of our learners who continue to prove that no challenge is greater than the strength of the human spirit.

May we never forget the sacrifices made by the youth of the past, and may we continue to empower the youth of today through education, opportunity, and inclusion.

"The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow." – Nelson Mandela

Happy Youth Day from all of us at Fulton School for the Deaf.

Part 2
Youth Day 2026 – Celebrating the People Who Inspire Us

In commemoration of Youth Day, our learners stepped into the shoes of their role models, and what a heartwarming sight it was! ❀️

We were incredibly proud to see so many learners choosing to honour the everyday heroes in their lives β€” our teachers, house parents, cleaning and maintenance staff, as well as their moms, dads, grandparents, and family members. It was a beautiful reminder that true role models are often the people who guide, support, and inspire us every day.

Our staff joined in the fun, too, embracing their youthful spirit and adding to the excitement of the day! πŸŽ‰

From creative costumes to outstanding performances, our singing and dancing superstars lit up the stage and showcased their incredible talents. The day was filled with laughter, creativity, inspiration, and Fulton family spirit.

Thank you to everyone who made this celebration so memorable. Here's to our youth, their dreams, and the remarkable people they look up to! ✨

Our Grade 4, 5 and 6 learners had an unforgettable day out at the Animal Farm Yard in Botha’s Hill! πŸ„πŸπŸŽ

The day was filled with fun, laughter and hands-on learning as learners explored and interacted with a variety of animals. From feeding the animals and enjoying exciting tractor rides, to zip lining and horse back riding, there was never a dull moment! πŸ›»πŸŒΏβœ¨

The outing was not only educational, but also a wonderful opportunity for learners to bond, play games, and create lasting memories with their friends and teachers.

A big thank you to the staff at Animal Farm Yard for making the experience so enjoyable and memorable for our learners! πŸ’š

Today, representatives from Sunlight visited our school to officially hand over an amazing R100 000 prize to Fulton School for the Deaf, as well as R35 000 prize money to the learners who participated in the Raise the Bar Challenge!

A HUGE and heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible educator, Pinky Rapoo, for spotting the competition opportunity, purchasing the soap, and bringing this entire dance challenge to life. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and belief in our learners made this moment possible.

Special congratulations to our dancing stars:

✨ The excitement is officially in the air at Fulton School for the Deaf!

Today, our school leavers β€” Grade 12, Technical Occupation, and SID learners β€” received their official Farewell Dance invitations, marking the beginning of a truly special countdown.

To make this memorable moment even sweeter, Pedros generously sponsored a delicious lunch for our learners.
Thank you, Lushen Moodley of Pedros, South Beach. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for your kindness and support. Thank you for helping us celebrate such an important milestone in our learners’ lives.

The joy, excitement, and smiles on our learners’ faces as they opened their invitations were absolutely priceless!

And now… the countdown officially begins β€” just 35 days to go until our learners step out in their finest outfits and dancing shoes for a magical evening to remember. βœ¨πŸ‘ πŸ€΅

We are filled with anticipation and cannot wait to celebrate this unforgettable occasion together! πŸŽ‰
